here's my thoughts on the US Open: The US Open was lollapalooza for old dudes for real. Everyone parks at Jack murphy stadium where the chargers play. I took the trolley there. That's where you go through bag check, ticket check, and metal detectors. no cameras allowed and they are really serious about this. Then like 100 Greyhound busses shuttle everyone to Torrey Pines so as soon as you get there you're ready to watch golf and have drinks, no messing around. I had a VIP ticket so I made my way to the Trophy club for lunch and drinks. If there is a heaven for white people, I want it to be like the Trophy Club. Watched Weir/ Garcia from the first hole to the 4rth, where I planted myself to wait for Woods. I have to say watching stuff like this on TV is better for seeing whats going but nothing beats the atmosphere in the crowd. We all cheer the golfers when they walk by, and everyone was yelling 'Hey Roccoo"!. He's awesome! Tiger is surrounded by at least 100 photographers, news media, and police officers and the crowd yelled for him but heckled all the media. Too funny. It is amazing to me how hushed 50 000 people get when Tiger is putting. I was right there when he just missed making birdy on the 4rth. Moved across to the 5th, watched Tiger there, then decided the best way to beat the crowd and make the most of the rest of the day was to plant myself on the 18th and watch everyone finish. When Tiger made that shot the crowd went crazy! It was unbelievable to actually see that live. |
