Don't forget playoff hero Umberger to the Columbus team.

Don't forget that cult hero Gary Roberts won't be back with Pittsburgh next year.
Also Marian Hossa seems to be the most coveted free agent on market. He might re-sign in Pittsburgh but he will test the market July 1st, yw! Oh yeah, Malkin's probably going to sign an extension for 5 years. |

I'm curious to see how McCollum does with Detroit. Smartly, they got a hotshot 18 year old goalie, who was apparantly the best of the best.... We'll
see.....

And Barry Melrose will be coaching the Lightening.
I am actually going to get the Hockey package this coming season, I missed not getting to see anything but an occasional ::shudders:: Blackhawks game. |

Sundin says he's going to take his sweet time deciding about his future.
I love the guy, and he's one of the greatest Leafs of all-time...but seriously...enough. It's time for him to move on, and for this team to move on without him. I'll actually lose respect for him if he re-signs with the Leafs now, because it will show he has no interest in winning a Stanley Cup. Why would he want to come back if his only role is going to be mentoring the young players? He should either go to a contender or retire. But he has had since April to make up his mind. |

Because Toronto has more fans than any team in Hockey (hell, prolly more than the least popular 15 teams in the league combined), Sundin has always been
waaaaay overvalued by homers. He is spotty in production, had a tendancy to shine in times where it meant nothing.
I've always hated him. No heart, no balls. Gilmour>Wendy>Cujo>Vaive>Roberts>add another dozen greats from the past.> then maybe Sundin. He barely would crack the top 20 of Leafs greats. Fletcher said something about giving up on the Sundin thing by the 1st. Good Riddance! |

Here are two stories to make Leaf fans happy...

I'm liking most of the moves Fletcher has made so far (except maybe getting rid of Wellwood). He's definitely saying all the right things. Whether
that results in a better team or not, it's too early to tell.
The problem is, half the fans want this team to tank so we can land Tavares next year, the other half wants us to contend for a playoff spot. |

Oh I don't think trying to tank is necessary. We will be struggling to stay out of last place. Look at Washington and Pittsburgh even after they brought in
the best two players in a generation in their first year.
Toronto needs top 5 draft picks for about three more years. Which is doable. The 27 to 29 year old unrestricted free agents are perfect. Fletcher is no fool. He has abandoned his old "draft smaft" attitude of the pre-cap days. He isn't nicknamed the silver fox for nothing. The sad part - he is only a 1 year guy. I am hoping Burke comes in next year. |

Tell us something we don't already know. Garth Snow must've gotten hit in the head with too many pucks.
