It's Summer. It's already damn hot. It's the time of year when college football fans start thinkin' 'bout FOOTBALL!!!
And, it's time to be dissin' on your team's biggest rivals, so let's get the trash talkin' started!!
And yes - for anyone who's interested, I'm gonna have another game this year.
Intriguing opening-weekend games:
Saturday, August 30
TBA Hawaii at Florida - Will Hawaii fare better vs. the SEC this go-round? Is it 'Tebow time'?
TBA Georgia Southern at Georgia - The former is a I-AA power; interesting in-state game, this.
TBA Utah at Michigan - Remember LAST year? Utah's not a team to be overlooked.
TBA Oklahoma State at Washington State - Good 'non-cupcake' opening game for both teams.
TBA Washington at Oregon - Opening the season against a Pac-10 rival AT Autzen - ugh.
3:30 PM USC at Virginia - Nat'l Champions this year? We'll see what USC's got in this opening game.
5:00 PM Appalachian State at LSU - Heh-heh, remember LAST year?
6:00 PM Delaware at Maryland - Delaware's a I-AA power; potential upset, here.
8:00 PM Michigan State at California - Another good opening game between big-conference teams.
8:00 PM Alabama at Clemson - Hoooo-boy!! This has the potential of being a GREAT game!
8:30 PM Illinois at Missouri - This game's certainly on the radar this year!
Sunday, August 31
3:30 PM Kentucky at Louisville - This in-state rivalry is ALWAYS intriguing.
7:30 PM Colorado State at Colorado - Ditto, ditto... complete with riots, on occasion. Seriously.
Monday, September 1
4:00 PM Fresno State at Rutgers - Let's see what Rutgers has in '08 vs. this once-dangerous team.
8:00 PM Tennessee at UCLA - Another risky opening game for the Vols, against Slick Rick this time.
Bring it AWN, I say!
