Oh, and while I'm here ...
Miss TRho, Have the shingles gone away? How long did they last? Can they come back again? I'm super scared about getting them someday, so I may jump off a bridge before that ever happens. |

I've been through shingles hell. I don't know what hurt worse: the shingles or the bill for the meds.

I had them once...right along the bra line. Hurt to breathe. They were painful to touch. I had to wear my lightest of light clothes and even they hurt.
It was a thoroughly miserable time. I was 34, I think....somewhere around then anyway. |

Martrae, that's where my 19 y.o. daughter had them...right along the bra line under her left boob. (The good part was it was right after Thanksgiving and
she was at college. Therefore, I didn't have to listen to the whining! Yay!)

That's weird.
This whole time you've thought I was some guy in his 40's. I do remember specifically telling MadWoman that we were the same age (same birth month too, I believe) YEARS ago. Maybe you thought I was responding to you? Damn, I can't believe I even remember that. |

my case was about 5 years ago - started in my mouth and was on the left side of my face and my neck and shoulder - worst was the face though
Dharmit, one thing that hlped me was taking my hand and putting light pressure on the part that was zinging - it seemed to calm the nerves down and yeah, I probably already said that in this thread, but I'm not gonna go look |

oh gods...i am getting sympathy, burning, someone is poking me in the side with a red hot poker and pouring acid on my skin shingles pains on my side.
Luckily when I got them they were on my torso. I cannot even imagine getting them on my face! |

pimples - pus-filled pimples
I was so embarrassed - I walked around like a teenager trying to hide my face with my hair. I lucked out and didn't have any scarring and eventually went back to nice smooth skin |

Our friend had shingles a couple a weeks ago. We all thought they were just welts from like getting hit and shit, so we were like examining and touching them.
Once we found out they were shingles, we were too stupid to know that they aren't contagious so we all flipped out and didn't hang out with him for almost a month.
