SO, if there are no kids around with chicken pox to give you a natural booster, you have a greater risk of contracting shingles and chicken pox as an adult

Did you READ what you just posted? If the disease is eradicated, HOW ARE YOU GOING TO CONTRACT IT?

Also, you don't get 'exposed' to shingles. Shingles is simply the re-emergence of the virus that you carry from having chicken pox in your nervous system.

So, what has everyone except the uneducable DHC learned?

1) If you never have chicken pox, you'll never get shingles.

2! There is no 'evidence of the vaccine not providing 'lifelong protection' since the vaccine has only been in existance slightly over a decade.

3) There IS evidence that the vaccine works so well that people are no longer being exposed to it, spurring conjecture that people of other generations who had chicken poz will not recieve 'booster immunity".

What this means (IF TRUE) is that there may be a couple of exposed generations who might have higher incidence of shingles, but that once the current generation of immunized children reach adulthood, both chicken pox and consequently, shingles, will be extinct.

If people like DHC were in charge, they would be running around complaining that small pox and polio vaccine shouldn't be used because there are still people who had small pox and polio surviving.
