Actually, I finished a short story (OK, mostly finished it...there're still some things I don't like) and am back to work on the novel. Additionally, have as much commercial work as I want, slowly building the portfolio. Doesn't pay great but it does pay. Sort of. Am doing an advertorial for a spa-owner friend in exchange for 5 haircuts and a massage. If it's a legal massage, I'm renegotiating for 7 haircuts. Just enough to keep my toe in the water and keep a few bucks coming in. Those piddly little paychecks came in REAL handy during the unemployed time. Big hugs to you...am off for home now but may stop by from time to time. Hang in there, darlin'...I think of you often. |
