I always thought the ability to give up immunity was stupid and went against everything Survivor stands for.

I think giving up immunity would be a pretty good twist if it just happened more often, eh. I haven't seen Amazon, but the F5 TC this season = dayum epic.

They won immunity, and they can do whatever the hell they want with it. I think giving up immunity would be a pretty good twist if it just happened more often, eh. I don't think we'll be seeing anything like that again, but it was definitely worth the wait. |

I think giving immunity away is fair, because they won it, so they should have the choice of giving it to anyone they want or keeping it. It's not like the
other people pick if they get to keep immunity. It is their choice.

It's only happened...3 times? The first time it was kinda pointless. The second time it was only cuz the person had two immunities. And the 3rd
time...well, you know. =O Every time Jeff says "I don't think I even need to ask whether you're giving immunity away" I die a little inside.
Hope you feel better soon TS. <3 |

spnintendo wrote: How's that? Ultimately Survivor is about relationships, since you can't win without votes. Giving immunity to someone can potentially be a huge gift, a big showing of trust, or could save someone you need strategically...it can of course be a huge blunder, too. |

Allowing players to give up immunity removed a STUPID restriction on what could be done with the necklace. It adds potential entertainment and strategic
complexity, with no downside.

Again, sorry for the delay. I'm going to try to get them up today, but if not, they will definitely be up by tomarrow.

Instead of trying to get three up in one update, I'm just going to do one now, and the next two will be up tomarrow.
Number eight... 8. Three Tribes
Seasons: All Stars Memorable Quote: "Well, twelve Survivors would be nice, two tribes would be fun...not enough." -Probst When Gabon was announced to have eighteen castaways, I was ecstatic, and I still am. Mainly because I'm hoping that the producers will bring back one of the best concepts they've ever done. I'd much rather them bring this back and keep it going until the merge to create dynamics that would be interesting as hell, but really, it doesn't matter. I'll be happy with this thrown into any situation. I've already talked about how much the dissolving of Saboga killed All Stars (much earlier in this list), yet even with that, three tribes makes it to number eight and with good reason. First off, the producers didn't tell the returning castaways anything. It was probably because they didn't want the All Stars to find out about their competition, but it relates to tribal breakdown as well. No one knew what the hell was going on when they were thrown onto a tribe with only six people. Now, this was the first season with more than 16 people, so I doubt anyone figured it out especially with some of the idiots who were cast. (Yeah, I liked alot of them, but can you really tell me that people like Big Tom and Sue ever learn how to multiply?) Secondly, with only six members on each tribe, every single person got screen time by commenting on events that happened around camp. Again, you could say that people weren't shafted in editing because it was an All Stars season, but really, when there's nine people on one tribe, it's extremely hard to fit everyone into commenting on occurrences or strategy. Obviously, it's not impossible, but the editors sure have had some trouble with it lately. Thirdly, there wasn't an added twist to make one tribe so much weaker than the rest such as both seasons with four tribes. Fourthly, the tribes weren't small enough where the producers were forced to do a tribal swap in the second or third episode. These guys are forced to bond with only the other five, and each member becomes much more important to the group. Also, think of the dynamics of a merge where people only hold loyalty to the two or three others that made the merge with them? The amount of blindsides would be insane, and everyone would definitely be on their toes. This is one of the best concepts the producers have ever imagined, but I can't rank it any higher just because it didn't reach its full potention during All Stars (because of the damn dissolving). But the only way I can tolerate a cast bigger than 16 is if this twist returns, and I'm praying that they bring it back for Gabon. |

craig wrote:Agreed, except I think you meant Kucha and Jeff. As far as the past votes tiebreaker, Osten did vote for himself (same with Janu and anyone who was pulled out) since they never had a tribal council. For anyone else, no, they shouldn't be allowed to vote for themselves because that would make them a quitter. |

Ambassadors/Merging at new camp (Borneo, Australia, Marquesas, Thailand)
Person with more past votes leaves in a tie (Australia, Africa) Tribal Swap (Africa, Marquesas, Amazon, All Stars, Vanuatu, Guatemala, Exile Island, Cook Islands, Fiji, China, Micronesia) Men vs. Women (Amazon, Vanuatu) All Stars return (All Stars) HII (play before the vote) (Guatemala) Final 3 is really a final 2 (Micronesia) |
