Amanda Beard used to date Ryk Neethling. I love me some Phelps, but I'm the first to admit: butterface. Why would Amanda fuck him after she's had Ryk?
Yeah, 8 gold medals, big celeb right now and all, but ewwwww.

X on the props for Cynthia Potter. She has a phenomenal eye and explains everything SO clearly that even a casual, uninformed viewer can learn why the dives [should] get the scores they do. If you disagree with her, fine, but everything she says is right up there on the screen as clear as can be... Agreed. But, her voice drives me nuts. It's like listening to Nancy Grace talking about diving. Agreed....I HATE Nancy Grace's voice...and as much as I like the commentary, I hate that CP sounds like Grace! It's hard for me to watch listening to it.

Beard dating Phelps? "Ew, no!"
I love how they stated underneath the pic that she's a Playboy pinup |

That diving lady is awesome. She is such a bitch, and her voice to me sounds like a mix between Nancy Grace and Sheila from Big Brother 9. I just love her
seemingly accidental comments about the tidal wave from the fatass Canadian or her guessing the weight of that anorexic chinese woman.
But my favorite has to be the scared and confused woman who interviews people at the Water Cube. She just sucks so bad you have to love her. My favorite moment of hers was when she was interviewing the mens relay team after they had won and she asks "What was your goal?". And then passes the microphone to every single person and getting the same answer. "Gold." "First place" "We wanted to win" Uh, we wanted the gold." And then tonight when interviewing that American diver who didn't quite make it into the finals and broke down during the interview you could tell that she had absolutely no idea what to do. The girl was crying and she was just like "Uh, don't feel bad." |

Wow, Taekwondo is just like... like.......... fencing. You expect to see something exciting but it's so..... underwhelming and boring. No wonder they've been threatening to remove it from the olympics unless it's made more viewer friendly. When you see Taekwondo exhibitions, it's really exciting. People breaking things and flying over other people and stuff, but in competition it's just.... meh and wtf. Hopefully, Kung Fu will be picked as an olympic event soon. That should be more fun. |

^ In what event?
Holy cow the USA is really picking an awful day to choke. USA Women's Water polo just lost the gold medal match, USA Softball is about to lose, and the USA ladies in Basketball are trailing Russia right now. |

Brazil had the possession the entire time basically. However, the USA's defense was fucking AMAZING. That goal keeper had amazing save after save, and she
has to be the MVP.
The USA never really had any oppurtunities to score, except the one time and they seized the moment. Brazil, especially the overrated Mia Hamm wannabee Martia, fucked up time after time. |

Since Japan beat the USA in softball, what are the chances that it will still be an Olympic sport? I enjoyed it and I am glad that Japan won. When you read
the Yahoo article, the USA team was acting like it was fate that they win and that silver was nothing to be happy about. Something about self entitlement
always rubs me the wrong way.
Please, there is no crying in softball. |

Meh, I don't really blame them. They have won every single game, plus it's the last time it will be in the Olympics. But, I'm a little glad someone
else won it, since this was their last chance too.
Yay for the women's soccer team winning gold, I didn't think they'd be able to do it without Abby. |

Ok, please explain to me how group rhythmic gymnastics is a sport. It's dancing.

Well, obviously it's more of a sport than baseball or softball!! Duh meatball!!!
I love handball. I wish it was popular here. Also, who would have thought the big drug scandal of the Olympics would come from the horses?

meatball77 wrote: C'mon meatball, you like watchig headless chicks, right? Dancing is a sport when you look at the fact these girls have to use a variety of equipment to perform. Plus, it's not much different than Artistic gymnastics floor exercise. They do flips, jumps and all sorts of flexible moves. The group is more complicated because they use multiple equipment. IMO, this sport is the most enjoyable to watch during the olympics. According to wikipedia, men's rhythmic gymnastics is growing. It could be a possibility in the future. Wikipedia: Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which single competitors or pairs, trios or even more (generally five) manipulate one or two
apparatuses: rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. Rhythmic Gymnastics is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, theatrical dance, and apparatus manipulation. The victor is the participant who earns the most points, as awarded by
a panel of judges, for leaps, balances, pivots, flexibility, apparatus handling, and artistic effect.
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport largely performed by women and girls, but a growing number of men participate in a few countries. Athletes are judged on some of the same physical abilities and skills as their female counterparts such as hand/body-eye co-ordination, but tumbling, strength, power, and martial arts skills are the main focus, as opposed to flexibility and dance of women's rhythmic gymnastics. The sport has a growing number of participants, competing solo and on a team, and is most popular in Asia, especially in Japan where high school and university teams compete fiercely. As of 2002, there were 1000 men's rhythmic gymnasts in Japan. Men's rhythmic gymnastics is related to both Men's Artistic Gymnastics and Wushu martial arts. It emerged in Japan from stick gymnastics. Stick gymastics have been taught and performed for many years with the aim of improving physical strength and health.
