Weightlifting

Some of you are probably wondering how the hell something like this could make it this far, but frankly, I find this rather enjoyable and quite watchable. In theory, the winner of this event is the world's strongest man (or woman), so it's kinda cool. Of course, doping scandals often cast its shadows on this sport, but it's just really impressive watching people who don't seem to be that buff lifting so much weight.

Here is the Athens' men's 105+ kg final. (i.e., the heaviest category and the world's strongest man. And the video has more than 300 000 views, so I guess some people do care about this sport after all

You said on the first page that you thought badminton would be the lowest-ranked sport. Just curious, why?

Synchronized Swimming

Right after one of the most masculine sports, here comes what is probably the most "girly" Olympic sport What could be more girly than a bunch of pretty girls, decked in colorful, pretty bathing suits, gently waving their arms and legs around in the water? (That's what I thought of synchro swimming before) However, while water-polo disappointed me greatly at the World Championships a� few years ago, synchronized swimming was a very nice surprise. The routines are really nice to watch, and come to think of it, it's just like rhythmic gymnastics under water. The synchronization was absolutely amazing, and it was kind of like watching aquatic ballet (actually a better analogy than the gymnastics one). Of course, after a while, to my untrained eye, every team was perfoming the same routine so it got boring, but I think this is pretty underrated.
