I live the San Fernando Valley of Hell, Shag. I grew up in the Mojave desert, and I've lived in the jungles of Brazil. Trust me, there's always a place for things to grow. But even if not...there are other ways to cut a grocery budget without relying on buying high-fat, refined food. There's nothing wrong with buying starches if they're used in moderation. I just find it difficult to believe that this girl can't find a single thing to do to help herself. I know what it's like to live on nothing and I know that there is always an answer. They may not be buying ice cream now...but why were they buying ice cream instead of gas?

I do applaud her for rejecting the idea of popping out a baby just to get more public benefits, though. It's appalling that her family and friends think that's acceptable.


Anyway, the point was that the article's author seems to be making fun of them more than anything.

Amish dresses? Actually, I think those would be more comfortable than the FLDS prairie dresses everyone thinks I wear.
