.49 a square foot. We live in a three bedroom/1 bathroom ranch-- 1100 sq ft "starter home" in an unincorporated part of town. Our mortgage is tiny
and our taxes are half of what people in town pay.

depends where it is, how big, etc. I think the median 2 br in NYC is around $1.4 million if I remember right from the last corcoran thing someone slid under my
door.
Most of new york is coops. Condos sell higher. |

well, you've just identified one of the most expensive areas of ny if it's really on fifth. 900 square feet is pretty small though. I'd guess $1 -
1.5 million depending on where, what floor, etc.
Coops were devised by satan. Basically you go "into business" with your neighbors and each of you owns shares in the cooperative. In a condo, you only own from the walls in or the paint in or whatever. |

I'm going off some of the units I've seen on House Hunters on HGTV. Every time they show a NYC episode they NEVER mention the prices. What about
someplace near Union Square? Same size place. Oh and is Harlem a safe place now? I've seen a few restored brownstones up that way that go for over a mil
and it seems to be multiracial up there now.

Depends on where near Union Square. Just go to www.corcoran.com if you want an idea of NYC property prices. The thing is you'll notice big discrepancies
based on maintenance, outdoor space, doorman/no doorman, etc. Still you'll get an idea.

900 square feet is pretty small for a 2 BR/2BA coop. They are going to be tiny rooms. And please don't ever dispute anything I say. It won't end well for you. |
