This is just a random question, but it's been bugging me today. Why has there never been a 2-1-1 vote at the final 4? It does seem uncommon, but in 16
seasons, shouldn't there have been an alliance pair in the final 4 that has wanted a sure way to not go into a tiebreaker?

In China, I thought after Amanda told Denise, "I promise I won't vote for you tonight, but I cannot guarantee how they are going to vote" or
whatever at the final 4, she was going to use that as a loophole and vote Courtney, so that Denise would leave 2-1-1...
Either way, Amanda burned Denise and it was a great moment to watch up until the breakdown. |

It's easier for the pair to say to one person "Hey let's vote out this guy and you'll be safe yw" and make it 3-1 that's why.
There's no way you could pull off this lie this late in the game, everyone is going to talk to everyone else. |

I don't understand how you're avoiding tiebreaks. You avoid tiebreaks by turning a potential 2-2 into a 3-1, like they did in ASS. And if Amanda did that in China, she'd have everyone pissed off at her. Denise would say why did I vote for Todd if you're voting for Courtney, costing her a vote at the FTC, and they other 2 would team up on her. So there's really no reason not to vote for for Denise. |

Yeah it would be a smart strategy.
Example: Steph and Rafe vote Danni, trick Lydia into voting for Rafe and let Danni vote for Lydia. But yeah all the time it will be much easier to just get the Lydia person to vote for the Danni in this situation. The only reason you wouldn't do that is if the Lydia person would go and tell Danni the plan for some stupid reason. But then again if the Lydia is close enough to the Danni to tell her the plan, then why wouldn't the Danni and Lydia person team up and vote together? It would take some pretty good manipulation to pull it off. |

Not really. You lost me at Leslie making the F4. It was a fictional story based on Survivor: China that had a different outcome, so Leslie was one of the Final Four. ETA: Don't worry so much about the names, as long as you understand the scenario.

That makes statretegic snese only if they is a F3 and yet the HII is still in play at F4 (something that only happened in S13).
In a F2, Frosti's partner wold be stupid to betray him, because it 2 vs 1 for final immunity and Frosti probably doesn't vote for the betrayer in the end. In a F3 I could see Fristi's partner wanting to face the other alliance in hopes they will vote split. |

I understand, just don't see her making it. Just seems anyone who's played the christian card too much, like Dirk or Joanna, don't do well. I have
alot of them in my life, and it gets old very fast. I can't imagine being stranded with them.
As far as your eample, don't understand why Frosti might give away the HII. These examples just seem too far out. Terry didn't give away his HII. He just let the tie happen and hoped Danielle wins the fire challenge. Might have cost him in the end. But in this situation, wouldn't Frosti prefer to have Dave in the F3? Since everyone thought he was a little crazy? But I do get Dave's plan. That makes alot of sense, just the other stuff, not too sure about. And wouldn't Dave and Les think they're being played by Erik, just so their votes get wasted? |

Because if you're capable of voting someone out at the final 4 by a 2-1-1 vote, then you're probably capable of voting someone out 3-1, and don't
want to risk the two one votes voting together and forcing a tie.

I agree. 3-1 is the easiest. In 16 seasons it's happened 11 times and you could almost count Borneo, since Kelly's first vote was probably just an
attempt to look good. Fourth place finishers fall into 1 of two categories, or both. "You've served your purpose, you may go now." Helen,
Eliza, Nat. Then you have players no one wants to take to the finals, like Rupert and Yau. I'd really be shocked if 2-1-1 happened in real life. Seems
too risky when playing for a million.
