The show starts September 7th.
There was also some news special on HBO called "In Focus" which, well, focused on vampires in America. |

They've had 2 specials so far. They are promoting this show more heavily than anything in a long time.
All the websites and promo, I hope it lives up to the books and my expectations. Alex S. as Eric is so perfect. He's amazing in Generation Kill. |

Haven't seen any of the promo stuff or the special or even read the books, but I met an actor with a small role in this. This may be old news, but he said
there was a political element to the show. Vampire activists who want to keep their vampire identities vs. vampires who want to assimilate into
'normal' society.

It's kind of the backstory to the entire series. Vampires assimilating into society and getting rights. And there's a religious group who wants them
all dead for good and gone.
