Heh, haven't been here for awhile, but I am planning on finishing this!

Anyway:

12. Alex/Ava (Rebecca)

I don't really hate the Ava story line as much as some since it did add to Alex's character development and we learned more about his past through the situation. Before this, there were few real Alex storylines (other than his relationships with Izzie and Addison - but they seemed more like Izzie/Addison's stories than his). That said, Ava is a major bitch and hugely unlikable character and I just can't understand why Alex would like her. It was like they were trying to redo the Denny story line except with an evil/psychotic female version of Denny. It was basically just weird and didn't make any sense.

11. Meredith/Mark ("MerMark")

Truthfully, I'm not sure if this is actually supposed to be a real "canon" couple or if its just something people like to write fanfics about (though I can not imagine why), but I'll include it anyway, simply because the idea of it pisses me off. Anyway, I dislike any couple that includes Meredith and there are actually surprisingly few of these (other than Meredith/McVet which barely even counts) despite the fact she is the "main character." Anyway, whether this is a real couple or not, it's a stupid idea. Mark comes to Seattle, supposedly to get Addison back and then meets Derek's new girlfriend - why the hell would they become a couple? So he can show up Derek again? Stupid. In the few scenes they do have together, they have no chemistry either.

Ew, yuck. I could see them trying that storyline next season too. I hope not though. I don't think Mere has chemistry with anyone. It's nothing against Mark though.

10. Alex/Lexie ("Alexie")
First of all, I'm assuming Lexie's name is short for Alexis, which means these two have practically the same name. I have no idea why that bugs me, but it does. . Anyway, I'm not really a fan of Lexie so this coupling is completely meh to me. It seems the only reason they were paired up was to give Ava some competition, making it the most who-cares triangle story line ever, IMO. Yes, I prefer Lexie over Ava, obviously, but that doesn't mean I want her to end up with Alex. Not much else to say about it other than that. Eh.

9. George/Callie
So, I guess with this rating, two/three couples involving George are out of the running. That said, it's nothing against George himself and it's definitely nothing against Callie either. They are both great characters and their relationship was an interesting storyline to watch, but IMO, it was doomed from the start. Their relationship was always a rocky one and getting married so soon was definitely a bad idea. It seemed to me both of them went through with the marriage for all the wrong reasons (George because he needed something to help him get over his father's death and Callie because she was afraid she would lose George otherwise - well, that and the fact she's a lesbian - yes, I know we didn't get into the Callica stuff until later, but maybe she knew about it early on and was trying to prove something by marrying George?) The whole stupid "Gizzie" storyline definitely didn't help matters either and I think Izzie's bad attitude was another big reason George and Callie didn't work out.




8. Addison/Derek ("Addek")
This couple actually reminds me quite a bit of my ex-boyfriend and I (yeah, unfortunately - ). He was sort of a condesending ass a lot of the time, he pretty much never listened to me and he always had to make everything about him. I really liked him anyway though. He had his good qualities (like being a gentleman, kind of like Derek) and I tried really hard to make it work. In the end though I just decided to give up on the guy - and phew! What a good idea! Whew...anyway, sorry for dumping my personal problems on y'all. What were we talking about again? Oh, right: Addek. Somewhat entertaining to watch if you like watching train wrecks. Some of their arguments were amusing and I think Addison brought out the best in Derek character-wise (that is, Kate Walsh brought out the best in Patrick Dempsey and he was ALMOST watchable in their scenes together.) Anyway, they may have been a good couple at one point, but in the end, I think they were just too different to make it work.

That's defo one of the reasons I don't like him. Being like that jerk of an ex-boyfriend is a definite minus as far as I'm concerned. Hey, I never said this list was objective. Lol.
