I loved the British version up until the final 15 minutes of the series ender. I am undecided as to watching the "sequel" Ashes to Ashes when it
makes its way to BBC America. I don't have any plans on watching the US version, but if I'm bored enough I may give it a gander.

Filming begins on August 5th ?? I already saw the pilot.. It wasn't that good, so I guess they're doing it over.
I loved the British one & Ashes to Ashes was good also. How can you not just love the "Guv" . |

As the premise of the show was ripped from 70s American police dramas, it might be a perfect fit on these shores.

They've cast all the guys, now let's bring on some gals. (After all, shooting on the revamped pilot starts in a week!) Gretchen Mol has joined the cast of ABC's Life on Mars adaptation, playing the lead female role
of Annie Norris.
When Jason O'Mara's modern-day detective, Sam Tyler, is transported to 1973, Annie is a member of the Police Women's Bureau, making do with menial tasks and combating the sexism of the times, despite being the smartest person in the squad room. Annie's battle for equality on the force will one day pave the way for Sam's contemporary love, Maya Daniels, to herself become a police officer. In the BBC's original Life on Mars, Annie was played by Liz White. |

I'm hoping they fixed all the problems, but it's not likely. Remember Cracker?

It was already massacred by ABC a few years ago.

From the promos, it looks like they copied the pilot from the original - I recognized every scene... I wonder what they're changing and how much
they'll fuck it up.
DownUpside - the last fifteen minutes of the series made me love it even more. |

I agree that you gotta love the Guv. I actually can't imagine anyone else doing that role justice.
As to the last 15 minutes, without giving away any spoilers, I just had my heart set on a different explanation and was extremely disappointed by the one that played out. |

Most of these people I can sorta see in the parts they've been cast in, but Harvey Keitel as Gene Hunt? Sorry, I just don't get that one at all. Gene
is such an iconic character, though, I don't know who would be able to do that part justice. Somebody...I don't know....bigger, personality-wise?

BUMPING.
This show is receiving surprisingly strong reviews; Entertainment Weekly gave it a B+ and TV Guide gave it an 8/10. |

How can ABC expect us to watch this after the shabby treatment they gave "Journeyman" and "Daybreak"!!???!!!
Which this shows sounds remarkably similar to, by the way. *still bitter |
