The meat is more tender and full in the winter as their coats thicken. So the meat tastes better. In the spring/summer they have lighter coats and the meat is
not as good. Cant wait to bag a few this fall.

undeterred and will answer you.
Hunting season in most species coincides with their pre-mating season. It's the easiest way to cull a herd without killing pregnant or too small animals, since they've had a chance to grow to adulthood from the previous season's calving. |

butchering cows is also really fun. i remember going to the butcher house when i was a kid and seeing the cows hanging like them deer up there and seeing all
the blood gushing out all over the floor. it was really gory yet very interesting.

ok. i was always intrigued by how the cows mouths (they would chop off the head and set it aside) would close shut like glue. you couldn't open it. really
weird.
