Anyone here live in Alaska? What are the pros? The cons? If someone can tell me how much I'd hate Alaska and better my life by not going, I'm all ears.

Um, so I received a job offer from my company that is more than DOUBLE what I am currently making, with excellent benefits, so I'm inclined to take it. The
position is only for two years, so I can move back later, but uh, there's a problem. The job is in Alaska. Fifteen months in Juneau and nine months in a
town of less than 10,000 called Sitka. I really don't know what to think about this.

Message me of what company and job title, so I can apply for it.

P.S. There's also an option for two years solely in Anchorage, but the pay isn't nearly as good and not extremely more than I'm making now, so
I'm not really considering it. But is Anchorage WAY COOL?

It would definitely make for one helluva set of stories, Crep. Being in Juneau you won't experience the bitter cold that most of the state is subject to
during the winter.
Go for it! |

Your chances of being eaten by a bear are greatly increased so I say go for it.

Yes, go for it, Crepuscular! Alaska is beautiful, if you like nature, the cold, the night, or feeling a bit isolated. That's why the pay and benefits are
so good. Only two years? Oh, hell, yea, do it!

It's only two years. You will probably regret it the rest of your life if you don't.

You're not gonna be working on one of those fishing boats are you?

two years from now they'll find your shriveled corpse inside an abandoned schoolbus, you know.

At least the corpse will be well preserved by the cold temperatures.

One of the best summers of my life was in Juneau and Sitka. Incredibly beautiful and lot's of outdoor stuff. Could be lonely unless the job comes with
others about the same age. Lot's of divorced women there, for some reason. I'm not an expert on Juneau (land locked), but I got to know Sitka pretty
well (yes, it's small and it's on Baranof Island). PM for more info, if you like.

If I were you I'd go to the place that has no internet.

You'd love it, take the next two years in Anchorage and never come back. Seriously. Go for it.
It you really hate it you can always come home. You would LOVE it. |

My cousin owns some condos that he rents out up there but I'm not sure what part of the state they are in.
I think if he ever gets out of the military they may move back there permanently. |
