We already knew Sylar was a killer...and HOW he become a killer. Tonight's ep didn't do much to change the fact, except the fucking writers love Sylar so much...they are milking his storyline...and coming up with stupid non-sense storyline one after another....1st, he's a Petrelli, then he's partnered with HRG, then he had a son, then he's actually a good guy, then he's fucking going to make the eclipse happens... |

As for the Sylar storyline - I dug this up and couldn't believe that I actually completely forgot about it.
In episode two of season one, Mohinder finds a taped recording from Sylar to his father saying "I can't control the hunger". I didn't believe it when I first read it at the episode summary, so I popped in my season one DVD, and it's there clear as day! I can't believe we overlooked that. |

This was a GREAT episode, it really helped connect the developments from the first season with the current season. It explained some unanswered questions and I
enjoyed the fact that it was dominated by the secondary characters. With the exception of Sylar, we got more focus on the other characters like HRG, Elle,
& Mama P (<33333 her after this episode). I found this episode to be a major improvement from the previous episodes in this season. The only part I
wasn't particularly fond of was the reemphasis on Sylar being a "good guy." I get it, he can't control his urges, he's not bad, he has a
soul, I even saw during the first season. Besides that though, I found the rest great, especially the segments involving Mama P. Personally, she made the
episode for me. And wow...Papa P is a douche.

So I don't understand how Arthur gained the ability to steal abilities? I always assumed that was his power but it's obviously mind control/telepathy. I thought that maybe Arthur used his minions (he seems like the sort that would have minions) to get the research Primatech was doing on people who transfer abilities, and using that and his company's research on bestowing abilities he was able to give himself the "steal abilities" thing. However, there's a few things that don't work with that. One, he has two sons with variants on the ability. Would only make sense if he had it. Two, Adam Monroe knew what Arthur could do when Adam was captured - that's why Adam freaked out. How could Adam have known about something that happened after Arthur's "death"? |

I'm really disappointed with Heroes. The writing has been weak this season. First, they have totally misused time travel. Then, you can never trust if
anyone is ever really dead. I don't mind that once in awhile, but when you use it so much it doesn't have impact. They are not staying true to many
of the characters. They keep jumping around from good to bad. It's like they use time travel, dying (but not really dying), and characters changing their
nature just to fix problems with their story and to seem unpredictable. It's not working for me. They have the framework for a better show. I hope they
find their way back.
These two things stuck out to me last night as examples of weak writing. It seems to me Arthur could have just used his power to change Nathan's mind about going after Linderman. He used it to change Angela's mind. Killing him seemed more risky. But, the writers wanted a more interesting story. I don't mind that, but it just doesn't make sense. The other thing is Sylar. I'm just not buying that the company would bait Sylar into killing and then let him go. If they wanted to see him in action, they could have caught him and baited him in a controlled environment. The only reason they did it was because they want to redeem him. I don't mind Arthur trying kill Nathan or Sylar being redeemed. But the way they've done it is just sloppy writing. If this show is suppose to smart and thought provoking then give us smarter writing.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Heroes dropped to a series low of 7.82 million viewers last night.
Then again, it could be worse. Prison Break only managed 5.40 million viewers. Terminator got even less. |

Lots of random thoughts about last night's episode:
First, Arthur was wrong when he told Nathan he looked good in a suit. Nathan didn't look good in a suit; he looked incredible in a suit. Just wow. I don't remember whether a previous season explained why Meredith was in hiding or not, but the in-depth explanation was pretty interesting. Her relationship to Flint will hopefully settle any viewers who were upset that two characters had the same fire ability. Seeing Thompson with a human side was fantastic. I hadn't realized how much I missed him on the show. Linderman is a puzzle. Was he truly regretful that Arthur wanted to kill Nathan so he healed & helped Angela or was it all a plan to oust Arthur and take charge of the company. How ironic that Angela had such a fractured, scarred mind so similar to Sandra Bennett. Whose side is the Haitian on anyway? He helped Angela poison Arthur yet helped Arthur kill the desert guy and possibly kill (??) Hiro. (Naah, we know that Hiro won't die.) He must be able to focus his ability numbing to a specific person as it didn't seem to hinder Arthur when he grabbed Hiro's head. Then again, maybe Arthur will be powerless in the next episode and Hiro will be able to escape. Angela really came through as a mother protecting her sons. Yet she seems to change later and is willing to let them die. She already knew that Peter would have an ability yet her own ability didn't seem to have yet manifested. I believe Elle had a heart and conscience in last night's episode (one year ago). Baiting Sylar who she had started to like changed her into the sarcastic, strong woman we see later. |

He helped Angela poison Arthur yet helped Arthur kill the desert guy and possibly kill (??) Hiro o_0 Where did you get that the Haitian helped Arthur kill Usutu? The Haitian has been fiercely loyal to Angela since season one. |

I just really thought last night's ep was boring and contrived. It's like the threw in Elle for no reason to try to force us to believe that Sylar has
been good all along. The Meredith and Flint story was SOOO boring. I can't remember his name, but the actor that plays Arthur Petrelli is AWFUL!

I just went back and watched the ending again. It was a rock painting in the background. When I first watched it, I was focused on Arthur and Hiro and didn't look that closely at the background. Duh me. |
