Doobie or not doobie.
That is the question. |

Uh, Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Lock. Dump. Led Zeppelin IV. |

A case could be made for Marshall Tucker or the Allman Brothers.
The case would be wrong...but could be made nonetheless. Skynyrd rules the genre. Now it can be locked. I have spoken. |

Shut up, homosexual AIDs person. Lynyrd had 2 semi-listenable songs (That Smell and Sweet Home AL). Doobies had Long Train Runnin, Blackwater, Yah Mo Be There,
Jesus is Just All Right and many others.

They're from San Jose even though they claim to be from San Francisco - I used to hang around with some of their groupies and met several of the original
members of the band.
I'd go with the Allman Brothers or Marshall Tucker Band |

San Jose is in Southern California.

it's more like middle California - when I lived there it had more of a leaning towards San Francisco and Northern California

Yah Mo Be There was a James Ingram/Michael McDonald record, after he left the Doobies. Their stuff was better before he joined the band anyway. After he joined
and Tom Johnston left, they stopped being southern rock and started being watered down, MOR crap.

AMT, you're right about their early stuff being better
