Valium has a longer half life so it stays in your system longer. If you stop taking Xanax you will feel it faster than if you stop taking Valium.

I was prescribed Xanax to help with some anxiety issues I've been having as of late. He wasn't sure which one he'd go with at first but he ended up
choosing Xanax. I was just wondering. I've tried Valium before (recreationally) with alcohol/shooters and I didn't feel much. So???

Well, I'm 25 (going on 26 in a couple of months...yikes!!), 5'10" and according to the official doctor scale, I weighed in at 166#. Apparently
I'm still carrying a little (or a lot) of holiday weight. LoL.
The urgent care doctor who saw me yesterday (cuz mine wasn't in) prescribed a 3 day quantity of Avitan (.5mg). It worked great. Though I had to triple the dosage to feel any sort of affect. Today my doctor gave me Xanax (which he is said is to be taken on an as needed basis...and is apparently taking place of the temporary Avitan) and something else (I think its the equivalent of Zoloft) which he said that I'd be taking everday. When it comes time for the refill, he'd up the dosage to the next step. He said its better to eased into these sorts of things. So, yeah. Go me! Anxiety-free!! |
