Ok, I liked it.... I laughed out loud a couple times, which is more than I can say for most shows on right now.

I liked it... lol irl a couple times. definitely funnier than some other so called shows that consider themselves to be "comedy".

Considering it was a pilot, they should've spent more time developing the characters. It was really just a series of mostly stupid jokes strung together. I'll give it a chance since the 30 Rock pilot was awful and that show turned out to be fantastic, but it didn't really make a great first impression. It's like they can't really decide whether they're trying to make it believable or just go all-out in its over-the-top goofiness.

Not to mention that, taking her first three or four years on SNL out of the equation, I find Molly Shannon unbelievably annoying and painfully unfunny. Once she started to get a reaction from characters like Mary Katharine Gallagher, she became one of the biggest over-actors SNL has ever seen and it doesn't look like much has changed.

Considerig the reviews this show has been getting, biggest WTF news so far...

NBC's "Kath & Kim" has become the latest frosh skein to score a full-season pickup.

Peacock announced the back nine order Friday afternoon. Reveille and Universal Media Studios are behind the skein, which stars Molly Shannon and Selma Blair. "Kath & Kim" is based on the Australian laffer of the same name.

Peacock has aired four segs so far, averaging a 2.6 rating and 6 share among adults 18-49. Show has also averaged 6 million viewers. "Kath" has retained all of its "My Name is Earl" lead-in in those two measurements, and has built by 4 percent with adults 18-34.

In announcing the pickup, NBC Entertainment exec VP Teri Weinberg said the net has "incredible confidence" in the show's auspices and that NBC believes "it's a perfect fit with our Thursday night comedies."

"Kath & Kim" revolves around a self-absorbed, dim mother and daughter duo. John Michael Higgins and Mikey Day also star.

Michelle Nader exec produces, along with Rick McKenna and original creators Gina Riley and Jane Turner. Riley and Turner also starred in the Australian series.

How is this getting a full back nine order while Pushing Daisies is in trouble?

ABC isn't nearly as desperate as NBC. I don't think the Peacock network has any top 20 shows, with the possible exception of LAW & ORDER:SVU and maybe DEAL OR NO DEAL.

Again, look at the actual numbers. It's doing about as well as My Name Is Earl in the ratings. People are watching this and it doesn't reek of desperation from NBC's part. This show is averaging an 18-49 rating that is much, much higher than Pushing Daisies and on a network that expects less. In fact, Kath & Kim's 18-49 rating is higher than NBC's average. If it pulls the same numbers from now until the end of the season, it and Earl will be locks to be renewed.

Heroes & The Office are both Top 20 shows in the key demographic. Remember, overall viewers doesn't mean a damn thing. Advertising rates are almost solely determinant on the 18-49 ratings. The Office, for example, isn't a Top 40 show but it's one of the most expensive per advertisement.

Holy Cow! Kath & Kim got picked up for 9 more episodes!!! That's a bit of a surprise, but perhaps there is hope. Maybe we can get them to write 9 GOOD episodes and then the show can prove us all wrong like The Office did. Maybe I'll check it out this week to see what all the hype is about. When is it on? Thursday night?

I don't get it. I've tried to give this show a chance, but it really falls flat for me. I have always watched the NBC Thursday night lineup and with K&K sandwiched between, I've given it a shot or two or three and it's just really terrible. It is not funny and feels forced and just pathetic. I'm shocked it's getting a pick up. I think the only thing that helps it is that it is hidden among the good shows on NBC on Thursday night. If they put it on any other night, no one would be watching it. Just crap.

Here we are in January and it's still on the air. Goes to show you nothing is logical on TV. The Aussie Kath & Kim is so awesome and the this version is... well, hit and miss. The actors are good and bits are funny, but as a whole, it misses the mark.
