I'll accept your premise that the US invasion of Iraq was justified because Iraq was a threat to US security. Therefore McCain and Bush are wrong now for speaking against Russia's invasion of Georgia - because Georgia was a threat to Russian security?

Do I wish we didn't invade? of course...but at the time it looked like the right thing to do. As for Russia/Georgia... Could it be a proxy? I dunno...I know that russian air defense missles are being sold to Iran...and we just sold some to Poland. Georgia is a break away...and the best thing that can happen is for the UKRAINE to be allowed into NATO (50 million people to counter Russias 140 million) Georgia is a 'testing grounds' toa Nato protected Ukraine. As for speaking against invasion of another country...Will Hugo Chavez be going to the UN and declaring that the 'devil' was here.. Will Russia fund the REBUILDING of the bsuilding they destroyed? Is Russia going to leave behind a new democracy? Will Russia try to minimilaize Collateral damage? Will Russia NOT target oil pipelines? FYI All of those questions have a 'no' for an answer.

And the "wag the dog" thing had nothing to do with Kosovo; those bombings began after Clinton's acquittal. He was accused of "wagging the dog" because of his decision to bomb pharmaceutical plants/terrorist base in Afghanistan and Sudan in the summer of 1998, when the sex scandal was in full swing.
