I don't even think Memphis likes Dan that much lol. I think that Dan is just Memphis' last option in the house unless he wants to be BFF with Jerry.

Dan brought the US flag from home ..he has had it in his room since the beginning of the show
When they got the grill and stuff for their Labor Day barbecue, Dan unfurled the flag on a pole and planted it through one of the slats of the chair in the yard |
