Well think about this point if you will, Will.

Back in Season 9, there began to be major hoopla about Survivor casting "mactors" (model/actors). Of course, that was the time when Britney, Paris, and cast of all of those Mtv/Beach shows were hot. I was near the top of the list of people who complained endlessly about that. I just didn't understand at the time.

Now they aren't, there are no acting jobs unless you are 12-15 years old and have a split personality or a twin or two, and the same 5-10 people are getting all the decent roles in Hollywood.

Suffice to say, being a mactor isn't really a valid goal, not because they are stuck waiting while tending bar, but because there aren't even any paid jobs out there to have if they DO make it.

Which is why it amazes me that CBS has kept the earnings for Survivor at a million dollars. Certainly with inflation from 2000, that would be a LOT more maybe? But now you can answer a bunch of questions against 11 year olds and not starve and do the same. Still, nobody's even come up victorious in that.

Survivor is 8 years old and going into its 17th season with almost no true public notice. Those who still like the show should just be glad (and rather amazed) that it still exists while laughing at the pathetic fools who actually get chosen for the show anymore.

Tell me, are you serious when you say that every mactor is some vapid wraith with np purpose in life? If so, are there any exceptions to the rule?

The term "mactor" worked back in seasons 9-11 pretty well. Then there was no more reason for the term since the people who may have been called "mactors" certainly weren't on Survivor-they were on Mtv and "America's Got No Talent".

But mactors are what they are unless they go by another title, that being "employee".

I say, cast all the pretty, good looking people you want on Survivor now, just make sure most of the the people can speak in full sentences and know how to pronounce at least 1 or 2 multisyllabic words in those sentences. We just have to keep this show alive for 3 more seasons is all.
