ATHLETEOWNAGE returning <3 I do agree that Olympians have an innate and almost unfair advantage though. They're obviously naturally more coordinated than the average D-List celeb, not to mention they're usually massively popular and well known. Most of the others just have niche fanbases going in to it. Maurice was the only Olympian that's been voted off and he wasn't nearly as popular as Kristi, Apolo, and Shawn (or Misty who probably would have been top 3 despite being a boring, wooden hag). But yeah, Shawn won with her freestyle and Gilles lost with his. Shawn's was just so much more fun and exciting than the other two, which didn't really give anyone a reason to vote for them.

And didn't a lot of the people complaining about Shawn's win love Ty? You can't really complain about popularity trumping dance ability when you were cheering on that uncoordinated doofus.

I also love how there's now been three female winners in a row when everyone was whining that a woman would NEVER win if Mel B couldn't (including Maks, who wasn't paired with any of the three and whose popularity seems to have plummeted lately <3).

And in case it hasn't been pointed out yet, the HOUGH TRIO has completely dominated the last five seasons.



I guess Corky really does control what partners they get. Mark is defo the best male pro though. He's had frontrunners as partners in 3/4 of his seasons, but his dances are almost always more fun and modern than ultra lame Victorian bores like Jonathan. His only shining moment was Marie's psycho doll freestyle.
