Sara Lee had a listeriosis case going on with their hot dogs a few years ago. Killed some people and they ended up forking out a ton of dough. It was a public relations nightmare. Fools. I had to do this for a project senior year of college. |

The funniest part is how McCain never says Maple Leaf on the recent commercial, but starts by saying he is Michael McCain at the beginning of the commercial
with Maple Leaf Foods in print at the bottom of the ad. I am sure it is deliberate to make the idjits who never read print on tv commercials think it is his
cousin's company McCain Foods. (Remember the fight for ownership between them?)
That sad, I have never seen a company take blame as well as this one has. The PR peeps and board have been front and center from day one. Recalling 20 mill worth of food that has nothing to do with the corned beef, roast beef lines, other than being processed in the same building is smart PR work. I don't think they will fold over this, being as dominant as they are, but their stock is going to take it in the ass. I think they will survive, maybe rebrand later on. |

Have you seen the product recall list? It's HUGE. Everything from roast beef to sausage, liverwurst and pepperoni. I don't know what the hell my kids
are going to take to school for lunch on Tuesday, and I've freaked out because we've been eating turkey and ham on a bun for lunch all summer.
