Haven't done first impressions name-by-name, so here we go. This is after listening to the CBS, EW, and Comcast video interviews.
ACE: Easily one of the most compelling people to listen to in recent years in pre-show interviews. I'm rooting for the guy, and I want to not only see great gameplay out of him, but a good villain too. It's been far too long where we have a Hatch-type villain who plays the game really well. BOB: I don't expect him to last long. He's already talking about how he's had such a great adventure already, and he seems like the type to say "I've already won" just days into the game. CHARLIE: He's a big Survivor fan, apparently, but not very much game talk out of him yet. I don't think he will be as cutthroat as I want him to be, or simply as good of a gamer as I want him to be. CORINNE: If she lives up to the "bitch" hype, then I'll love her. Right now, all I can say is it might be all talk and no action. There have been plenty of players in the past who tells us they are bitchy but we see little to nothing out of them during the game. The true bitches rarely say they are a bitch before the game. Example: Jerri Manthey. CRYSTAL: She was someone who surprised me. She has alot more spunk and personality than I expected, and I think she will be a good character. I'm looking forward to watching her on the show. DAN: Not much on him, but I actually think he might end up as a "nice guy" as opposed to a cocky young guy like Marcus will be. If he gets his social game together, I think Dan could do well. DANNY: Another surprise. Seems quite likeable and friendly, and I think that can take him somewhere. Not sure how strategically sound he is, but we'll see soon. GILLIAN: One of my early favorites, and I really hope she doesn't go early as the old woman boot. She wants to play the game badly, and if she can play as strategically as she is talking in the interviews and avoid being an early boot, I think she could go to the end. JACQUE: Nothing stands out about her at all to me. I think I remember her talking about selling something for more than people should pay for it, and that reminds me of Brianna. I know Kelly talked about that with the jeans. Anyways, she's not terribly boring in her interviews, but if there is one person to be shown less than others, chances are it'll be Jacque. JESSICA: Not really liking her so much. Nice person, sure, but seems so ill-equipped for this game in so many ways. Just like the Jessica of Cook Islands, she will be the one who doesn't want to backstab anyone or possibly even make alliances. I don't expect much from her strategically at all, and won't be surprised if she is an early boot. KELLY: Her CBS interview is, in my opinion, all about saying what she thinks others want to hear. I don't believe half of what she says, and I expect her to be one of the weaker ones mentally and possibly even physically. It's clear she saw some other pre-show interviews from previous seasons and wanted to sound just like those smarter-sounding people. In other words, imagine everything Ace says in a less intelligent way and none of it is remotely true. She is pretty hot though. KEN: I'm rooting for him. He is the nice guy this season and I think he'll go a long way. If he can play it well strategically he can do very well. I hope he can seperate emotions from the game, because he might be the type of player who lets emotions get the best of his game. MARCUS: I think he will be great for the show even though he'll be cocky as hell. He could be that cocky young strong guy boot who is voted out soon before the merge, like Silas, Burton, Colby (ASS), Blake, or JP. MATTY: Like Probst said in EW, he very well might be endearing. Time will tell, even though he just screams mactor. I can see him being likeable though, but I can't see him winning. MICHELLE: Reminds me of Kelly Goldsmith from Africa. She'll have good confessionals, I think. I don't think she'll be a dominant force to play the game hard and win. She'll be a fun character but not a great strategic player. PALOMA: I like her alot, actually. I see her as this season's sweetheart. She will be mild and probably overshadowed by the bigger personalities, but I don't expect her to be invisible. I see her as being one of the female fan favorites this season. RANDY: My favorite so far. You can easily call everything about him phony or fake, but he is so different from everyone that I simply can't do that. He has genuinely made me laugh several times in both his video interviews and from reading his bio. If he makes the merge, I expect him to be a very memorable character from this season. SUSIE: If she plays the game strategically well, she will be a deadly force. She has the charisma, charm, and personality to be very likeable and endearing. She will be loved by everyone on her tribe for sure, and if she plays the game well, we might have another Cirie type. |

Since they mentioned this would be good vs. evil who do you guys think is good and who is evil? For evil I think Ace, Corinne, or Randy. Anyone else could be
good or evil I guess. Any guesses?

I would think Marcus and Jessica (if she is part of the group I could see her playing along) could be classified as "evil".

Jessica? Evil?? She's sending me vibes of being the typical recruited idiot who doesn't come on the show to play to win but to make friends. Oh wait
that's also Robert too.

No doubt about it, they're hyping up Corinne as "evil" and Matty as "good". Wouldn't be surprised if those were the two leaders.

Bob "Dan Barry reincarnited" = Evil
Randy = Good in an asshole kinda way |

7/16 of the cast is from California and it seems like most of these people are recruits

For the record when anyone wants to blame the shittiness of the season on recruits (should be happening pretty soon):

I'm 99.9% positive that Susie applied, and also 99.9% sure that Michelle was recruited. She's part of the same boxing team in Los Angeles that Parvati
was on, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if a casting director dropped by there to see if there were any other young athletic girls they could cast.
I'm also 99.9% sure that Sugar is a recruit, I mean, come on. I don't think Corinne or GC are recruits, I'd be surprised if they were.
ETA: Wait, Ken applied? Are you sure? That surprises me, a lot. |

Yeah, I'm sure. It's all from that series of articles I just posted from. He said he applied once, got rejected after the first interview, then
called back later. It's probably a part of that rumor that a bunch of the original cast was dropped last minute and replaced because they weren't
happy with it.

From Reality Blurred, Jessica was also recruited. Originally she was recruited to be on the Great American Dog show(whatever it was called) then that somehow
lead to her being on Survivor.
I also remember seeing an interview somewhere which had Corrine saying that she had never seen the show prior to being cast. So if that is the case, I would imagine that she had to be a recruit as well. |
