I hope it's a chance to get to know the players and not 2 reward and 2 immunity challenges. I couldn't take an hour and a half of people crawling
through mud, balancing, grabbing flags, putting together puzzles etc. and barely know their names, much less anything about them other than their sanitized
biographies.

Well if it is 2 episodes in 1, I hope they use this to give the most airtime to the best moments in the 6 days... either way it's something new and
it'll be a great night!

If I'm disapointed again though, and have this just be the first 6 days, I literally will stop watching.Get ready to stop watching. Come on folks, who are we kidding- we all know it will be 2 episodes in one night. We just don't want to admit it yet. Now there is a silver lining to that dark cloud: you know the recap of the premiere and the theme song that would usually go at the beginning of the second episode? That will be gone, since the second episode will immediately follow the first, and that leaves a little more time to add in some new footage, as well as not needing to show the preview for the second episode. Unless they STILL keep all that stuff in, then it's just pure laziness and I will be disappointed. Expect two episodes, not one very long premiere. I will be very surprised if that's not the case. |

If it's not 2 episodes covering 6 days, there will be some complicated interesting twist at the start of the game that needs extra time. A 2 hour episode
all about setting up camp and making fire would be dull.

I guess I'm just naturally cynical, but when I read that I thought it implied two boots, too.
Or maybe only one boot but the challenges now take up a full hour of airtime... 
Would love to see more character development, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. |

but, I don't think it necessarily means anything... I gathered that they are combining the 18th and the 25th two-hours together. Like, one person will get booted around 9:00 and then, the second boot at the end. I doubt they're actually going to give us MORE than what they would in two normal episodes.That was my first thought, too. What else is on the schedule for the 18th? Like, if they decided they genuinely wanted a two-hour first episode, is it something that couldn't be bumped, so they had to push the Survivor season back? CSI and Eleventh Hour are scheduled for Thurs on CBS, but don't premiere until Oct. I could imagine that the HD is sort of a big deal, and there will be lots of nature-porn filler. I'm not sure we could get two hours of first episode character development. |
