When I first heard this quote I thought the person holding the HII would be gone quickly, and was disappointed that it was Sugar that found the HII. So I am still expecting her to screw up the use of the HII. My only hope that Sugar survives is that she uses it tonight whether or not she feels in danger, and takes that target off of her back. I don't think she will make it much further with the idol.

If so, then Marcus would likely be sent home from Fang (everyone could assume they merge at 9, thus they get rid of the leader of Kota).

It might be misdirection. I'm thinking they would've pimped a shocking move with the idol more in the promos. Ok, I have a new theory: -The convo between Marcus and Sugar w/Sugar crying is one of the first scenes. -LOLFAKEMERGE w/ a new Idol buried in the sand. -Randy finds the idol. -Since everyone saw him get it, he realizes that is just puts a huge target on his back so he plops it down and essentially says "Fuck that. I don't want it." This is what Jeff is referring to in his preview. -We have been misdirected.
