The DUI happened right after Athens if I remember.
All I can say is that the Aussie girl relay team was HIDIOUS. Most ugly batch of girl swimmers ever. I was so happy for Dara that she won silver. She almost won the gold when she was an outside favorite to even sneak in for the bronze. Amazing that she grew so much in all those weeks after the trials. You can't be disapointed with your personal best. She is the definition of a class act. Yay for Michael! 8 for 8 bitches! I loved watching Mama Phelps celebrate and right beneath her was Ian Thorpe's reaction. He didn't seem to pleased <3. Although I admit Ian didn't look as hidious as he did the night before. I also don't think Michael is ugly. Yes when is head is shaved and those hidious freaks of nature are sticking out (his ears) he looks like a geek. However, when he has his hair grown out and they are covered up, he looks decent. The 100 meter sprint was so amazing (two unexpected people ended up placing 2nd and 3rd <3). I think the women's race will be even more closely contested. There are 2 americans up against a slightly favored Jamaican. I loved how for once the silver medalist was excited. Usually they are disapointed for coming up short. I love reactions that are so OTT to winning a bronze or silver (the men's gymnastics and the girl who won bronze in the 10,000 meters). More Paula Crycliff. She is the best marathon runner of all time on the women's circut and none of those bitches will ever touch her. She just has epic meltdowns at the olympics (although her meltdown in Athens was the most epic moment of the games, allowing an american to place 3rd). |

By the way, Wilma Rudolph didn't win as many gold medals as Michael Phelps, but she looks like Halle Berry, so can you say she's really lost?

I don't think Lisa Leslie gets enough credit at these games. It's her fourth olympics and she's going for her FOURTH straight GOLD in the same event. That is fucking unheard of and NBC barely mentions it. Just because she can't win 10 medals a game, she isn't worthy

I think Phelps ranks among some of the greatest Olympians (on my own personal list). And it's not really for the medal count alone (that's part of it)
but also handling the pressure of this week - swimming 17 times - and giving it his all in every single race. I really tried to dislike him because the
coverage was overblown but he had a huge goal and he reached it.
But I can see why he wouldn't rank on other people's lists. |

Yeah he swam 17 times, but he sure as hell didn't swim all the prelims. He got to puss out and have alternates swim that for him. There are far better
athletes than him in the Olympics, and I didn't even know that about Lisa Leslie going for gold #4 in 4 consecutive Olympics in women's basketball.
Just like I didn't know the count on may/walsh's consecutive wins. I would put those three women above Phelps in a heartbeat, not only because of my
hatred for him, but because they are actually more impressive.

One could argue that Carl Lewis was the greatest ever because he competed in multiple disciplines and won golds in 4 different olympics
