China didn't start occupying Tibet until 1949, with the 17 point agreement being imposed in 1951.

Ummm, Tibet has been part of China since the Yuan Dynasty. It only became "free" after the fall of the imperial system in 1912, when all of China
pretty much became ungovernable.
And even in the 1912-1950 period Tibet was a theocracy ruled by the Dalai Lama and a small number of lords. The bulk of the population were serfs. If thats your idea of a free Tibet...

What cultural genocide? Just cuz the Dalai Lama isnt there doesnt mean any culture is being destroyed.
