As for the throbbing, hold your hand up higher than your heart. Maybe just put your hand up on your head or behind your neck. Anything to get it higher than your heart.

A walk in clinic should be able to handle that.

Jobs with insurance aren't easy to get now, either. That said, if Jess is in college, I'm surprised the school wouldn't require him to have it, either through them or on his own, if he's a full-time student, possibly even a part-time student. Jess, as for the finger -- get it looked at! If the infection's bad enough that your whole finger throbs, hurts, and oozes pus, then you need to be on at least some heavy-duty oral antibiotics. It'll cost you money now, but if you get it treated now you might be able to avoid being admitted to the hospital and put on IV antibiotics, which would cost you even more. |

Perhaps a doctor's advice will serve you better than OT's medical expertise?

Unpossible.
A girl that used to work where I work slipped getting out of the tub one time and landed on her elbow cutting it. It turned into flesh eating bacteria and she lost half of her arm. Jes sayin |

It's been 19 hours since Jess posted. Either he's STILL sitting in the ER, been admitted to the hospital, or dead because the flesh-eating bacteria
overtook him. I sure hope he didn't try to go to work or anything!

i'm sorry to hear about your injured finger, honey. it reminds me of this time when i was little and i was at my aunt hilda's house. she made these
yummy, gooey smores treats, but i had got a bunch of splinters in my fingers from where i was out in the chicken coop earlier that morning. i must've done
something to make them mad because they started flyin' and a-peckin'! i almost kilt myself tryin' to get over that wooden fence, y'all! anyway,
i couldnt hold the smores because of all of the splinters, so i made me cousin heather hold one while i ate it from her fingers. it was good y'all! in this
time of sorrow, i thought i'd share that recipe with y'all.
you will need: - chocolate cake mix - 1 bag of small marshmallows - 2 king sized hershey bars - 1 garlic clove - 3 slices of balogna - small box of graham crackers - 9 x 12 cake pan 1. mix up the cake mix y'all 2. pour in the small bag of marshmallows 3. dice the garlic cloves very finely and then pour into the mixture 4. back the cake mix at 500 degrees for about 7 minutes 5. after the cake mix is finished and has cooled for about 10 minutes, open the hershey bars 6. eat one while you break the other one into equal sized squares and lay them on top of the cake 7. put several graham crackers into a small baggie and smash them into crumbs 8. pour the graham cracker crumbs over the cake 9. place back in the oven for 15 minutes at 500 degrees, or until everything melts 10. remove from oven and let cool for an hour, then lay the balogna slices evenly on top and serve! oh what a tasty treat! you will be the hit of your party when you serve these treats, y'all! see you soon for more great recipes! love ya! |

Thanks for the recipe. How is Heather these days.
Status Update: After hurting like a bitch and throbbing last night I finally fell asleep. When I woke up the finger still hurt... throbbing a little and I expected more of the same and the fear that the finger was getting worse was growing. I put a fresh band-aid on and some more ointment. Some time mid-morning it stopped throbbing and I'm pretty sure some of the pus started seeping out!!! YAY!!! It's still a bit swollen, but it doesn't hurt much at all. I've soaked it twice and am going to again soon.. There is still pus in there..., but if it's not throbbing and the swelling doesn't seem as bad that means it probably getting better... right? If it doesn't im gonna check out the med express clinic! |

Settle down. Soak it in peroxide. Squeeze out the pus. Eat a bunch of yogurt for the next week. You will be fine.
Buncha fucking pansies. |

Whenever I get an infected cut FooFoo has me soak the damaged/mangled area in super hot water with Epsom's salt. You should do that. Then have her kiss
your booboo. That's what I do and I always get better.
Don't colleges have free clinics anymore? I got health care at college that way; it covered everything up to hospital procedures. You needed insurance or cash if they couldn't fix you up themselves. |

Has anyone suggested amputating at the neck yet?
It's a sure fire cure for an infected finger. Kimbob the Doctor |
