The bill said that we had used 6,900 gallons between 7/23 and 8/21. That seems like a lot, especially since we don't* have a washing machine. I don't know our neighbours well enough to ask them how much their water bill is. There are two adults, a dish washer, three toilets, two showers/baths. We each average two showers a day. We don't have a garden and we don't water the yard. No swimming pool/spa. Does 6,900 gallons sound like too much? Maybe I have a leak. When we put in our garden next year I'm going to figure out a way to pump the water out of the river and into the garden across the street. My plan isn't perfected yet. When the time comes I'm sure I'll babble endlessly about it. *Yet. We bought a washer/dryer, a shop vac, and a rug cleaner tonight. The washer/dryer come on Tuesday!

Go find your meter & report back & I'll tell you how to check the low flow indicator. You wanna look at it when you think everything is shut off, if it's moving, you have some sorta leak. Now go find out if you have a Rockwell, Sensys, Neptune or Badger. Should be in the basement toward the front of the house.

Sewer and water are combined, and our bill is around $30.00. You're getting hosed. Literally. Check your toilets for leaks. But it sounds like your rates are just insane.
