How many of those people proved themselves as halfway decent strategists, DWH2? I mean, I suppose Misty could count too, but I can't think of anyone else.

I'd argue that Amy S11, Jenny S13, and Natalie all played better than Tracy.
Amy got into the majority alliance or her original tribe, was very strong and likeable, was duisadvantaged by the switch, but managed to outlast Blake and Brian. Jenny outlasted 5 people on Raro. and was a prime mover behind booting JP which moved for way up in the pecking order. She was MVP in one Raro IC win with her puzzle-solving ability. She would have made the merge and gone far without the bottle twist. Tracy was good, but she probably did something wrong socially to get outcast with the likes of Kathy and Chet. She had a chance to pick Eliza .instead of Cirie, and her choice of the weaker challenge performer who was allied with Ozzmanda cost her making the merge. I'd say Natalie outplayed Tracy on the fans tribe, because she was friends with the Outsiders and solidly in with the majority alliance. Then everyone courted her and Alexis for a F4 alliance after the switch. Later she outwitted Jason and Erik, and was in with Parv enough to be the last fan standing. If not for the idol at F6, she probably makes F2. |

Joel obviously. He showed potential, unknown potential I admit. If he and lets say Sean switched places, he may have outgunned Richard. I definately agree with Joel. He was the strongest and smartest on Pagong and got screwed over for comments that someone else made!!!! @_@ We wouldn't have the term "pagonging" had he made it to the merge, I'd think. Silas was extremely arrogant, so much so that even if the switch hadn't happened, his tribe was 100% screwed cause any surviving 'older people' would jump ship at the merge in a second. And much of that can be blamed on Silas's arrogance, such as his demanding that the old people vote for Lindsay to keep prior votes off anyone else. Brooke, Margaret, Amy, Brian, Michelle, Aaron, all got screwed by twists so I suppose you could bring them up. Ryan & Jolanda, see above. Jolanda definately would have helped Ulong had she been around (thank you, Stephenie!), but I still don't think she'd have gotten far in the game. Michelle hung out with the minority, and stupidly screwed up in the immunity challenge that cost her the game. No says I. Shawn? Showed no loyalty whatsoever, made a very questionnable move by voting out Trish, I'd say he too wasn't all that great. |

You can't base how good of a player they were based on what could have happened or else Varner might be the greatest of all time. He said so himself.

It really irritates me that most people just always lump so many players into the blanket term "under the radar." It's almost always used with a negative tone, but it can mean more than one thing. There's people who do just hide in the shadows and hope no one cares about them enough to write their name down. And really, it's not an entirely terrible strategy as far as getting to the end. But there's also a lot of people who actively play under the radar, and I think she was definitely one of them. I mean, at least as far as knowing exactly what every other person in the tribe was thinking, what they wanted to do, what they wouldn't do, when they changed their mind, what they needed her to be to them. And that is the smartest way to play really, except it's such a crapshoot with the jury. Some people respect it, a lot dismiss it immediately 'cause they made a bunch of big, flashy moves and got bit by it. |

Heidi is the most underrated in Survivor history. Go back and watch the Amazon and tell me that she wasn't masterful. She was a genius
goddess.

I mean I think that Rob C. could be classified as an under the radar player. It doesn't mean they don't do anything. There's a difference between not being a target by dumb luck and by positioning yourself to make sure that there are bigger targets than you. |

Another bad move Rob C made was when he backstabbed Heidi instead of getting rid of Butch.

Stacy was even saying she will do what Cassandra tells her to do..Boo, in many interviews, wanted to have a final agreement with Cassie...Cassandra made Dreamz betray his alliance and cause the four horsemen or whatevery they called themselves to implode...and Cassandra was the bridge that hooked up Earl and Yau Man to the rest of the alliance, she was just not any good at the challenges and I don't think she did a good job defending herself during the final jury because she was a recruit and not a fan of the show but her social game was masterful...her one fatal flaw also was being too loyal to Earl which is probably why Earl won the game... |
