After a dramatic and intense season full of manipulation and great game play, Dan, the 24-year-old Catholic school teacher from Michigan, was voted the winner of "Big Brother' season 10 by his former housemates, taking home the $500,000 grand prize. Memphis won the $50,000 second place prize, and Keesha won $25,000 for being voted America's favorite juror. In the Hands of the JuryI can't believe it's here! The moment we've all been waiting for, the moment when we find out which renegade reigns supreme - the live finale. It's been a long journey, and what Brian couldn't do the first week, Dan has done and mastered. Dan has manipulated his way in to peoples' hearts and on to peoples' bad sides. If the finale was all about competing, I would vote Dan as the winner. He's been my pick as the winner ever since he cried crocodile @#@%@ to everyone and they bought it! Ever since them Dan has been running the show, and I don't think people have realized. Unfortunately, the reality of this game is that the Jury House members vote for the $500,000 winner. This is where I think Dan's plans will falter. Dan has hurt a lot of people in that house, and now that they have been watching the show and have had the chance to see how manipulative Dan truly is, I just can't imagine them wanting him to take home the grand prize. Let's be honest here, this vote isn't going to be about game play and strategy, this is solely about personal vendettas. The Jury's Final Member Tells AllYou would think that once the game was over, the claws would retract, but instead the truth comes out. Before the seventh, and final, jury members arrive, the current jury members, Libra, Renny, Keesha, Michelle, Ollie and April, took a moment to talk about who they want to show up. Keesha says she wants it to be Memphis because he is arrogant. Ollie wants it to be Dan because he has disrespected and mocked the entire house the whole season. Libra wants Jerry to come back because she doesn't believe he deserves to win. "We floated that old man all the way," Keesha adds. But just as Libra is about to go off, Jerry shows up. Everyone seems less than thrilled. "The two evil people are in there," Michelle says about the final two players. Jerry then begins to tell the story of how he was ousted. He tells them that Memphis and Dan have been playing the rest of the houseguests since the beginning. "Both of them together was a force we couldn't reckon with," Jerry says. Keesha is frustrated because she feels that she carried Memphis through the game and that it should have been Memphis and Dan on the block that week instead of her and Dan. "Who's the worst of two evils, and who deserves it more," Jerry says about the decision at hand. Renny believes that Memphis is basically a horrible person. Keesha says that she still likes Dan and that his game was amazing. April is bothered by the embarrassing roulette game that Dan put them all through, which basically poked fun at Ollie and Michelle and ultimately sent them packing. Renny then calls Dan immature. You know? It is amazing how quickly people turn on you and how little friendship there really was in the house. It is hard for the houseguests to deny Dan's good game play though, no matter how much they dislike and/or disrespect him. Even Ollie says he played the game well, and Michelle admits that the best move he made in the house was his deal with Ollie that backdoored her. One thing that Jerry didn't know before walking to the Jury House was that Dan wasn't alone on that trip, as he had originally told the remaining houseguests. April made sure to bring that up though. Jerry was shocked. Confronting Your VictimsSince the jury members make the final decision, it is important that they get the chance to question the final two players. It is also a good time for the players to make final pleas and defend some of their actions. Libra: What was your most strategic move Dan?
April: Since we really don't know each other, why should I vote for you Memphis?
Michelle: Why did you choose me to go on the trip with you Dan (surprise Memphis!)? Who's idea was it for you to backdoor me?
Michelle: Memphis, since we were in an alliance together (holy surprise to father Dan! I've honestly never seen that look on his
face) but you screwed me, why should I vote for you, especially since you haven't been HOH and have told me you purposefully threw several of them?
Ollie: Why did you put your girlfriend's name in to our deal?
Renny: Memphis, did you do anything for me in this game?
Keesha: "Hi Memphis my best friend!" (sarcasm) Why me? Why did you vote me out over Jerry?
Jerry: Do you have any respected for anyone in the Jury House?
Jerry: Since you had an alliance with me too, if you had won who would you have picked to go to the end with you, me or Dan?
The Final PleasMemphis: I want to thank all of you for this summer. This has been an amazing time. I tried to make a business plan to seal my spot at the end. I was playing to be an asset to your game so that when you won you wouldn't vote me out because you believed you needed me. I only threw two HOH competitions. I played straight forward. This is who I am in real life. If you think I'm the better player vote for me, but if you don't think I'm the better player, I'm asking you to vote for Dan. Dan: The moment I walked in here I saw big personalities and athletic people. The only way I thought I could win was by being creative and mentally outplaying everyone. I'm sorry about the Ollie and Michelle thing, it may have gone overboard, but I needed some people in the Jury House to dislike me so that should I get trapped, Memphis would be there. I hope you set aside your emotions, and vote based on who you think is a better player. Making a DecisionAfter the players had answered their questions and given their final pleas, the jury was given more time to discuss their final votes. April says that she liked Memphis's speech much more. His speech was such bull, so I think that thought is based on emotions only. Welcome Back Jury MembersAll of the jury members were invited to the live ceremony to discuss the past, the present and cast their votes. Before casting their votes, host Julie Chen wanted to talk with the final two players. She asked Dan and Memphis to describe their experience. They both agreed it was intense. Although they did not say their vote, the jury members did have to cast their votes in front of Dan, Memphis and the audience. They were also given a chance to say something to the players before casting. Libra: This game isn't easy like people believe it is, so when all else fails, go crazy. April: Thank you for all of the experiences we shared this summer. Michelle: It was a crazy ride, but congrats. Ollie: It's been an unforgettable summer. Good or bad we'll remember it forever. Renny: As a business woman this decision was easy. In the game of life and the game of TV games it is important not to forget the little things, the hellos, how are you doings and so forth. (Oh God, she is not voting for Memphis! She totally mocked him. That was honestly embarrassing! ) Keesha: I want you to know I love you both, and I look at you like little brothers. Jerry: I'm making my decision based on an act of kindness that one of you showed me, which I will explain later. The Vote is In, But We're Not Done Chatting YetThe Jury Members weren't the only ones visiting the live ceremony. The first four evicted houseguests, Brian, Angie, Steven and Jessie, were also there to discuss the things they have seen while watching the entire season from their homes. Brian: Memphis and Dan never made things personal. They both played it as what it was - a game. Ollie, I was surprised that you threw a temper tantrum over something that has happened to everyone else. Michelle you acted ridiculous about the Hawaii trip. Michelle and April, you also made it very personal by attacking Keesha's appearance. Steven: Jerry's actions were the most disappointing, and he was upset about the way that he treated Dan. Jerry: I used religion because Dan used religion. Chen explained to the group that there was no conspiracy and there was no season-long America's Player, which probably disappointed a few people. The group did however finally learn that Dan was America's Player for one week. They also learned about all of the things he was forced to do. Now knowing that America voted him out, not Jessie, he thanked America for making the show so entertaining. I really wanted to know what Jerry thinks now that he knows Dan only went back on his word because America told him to, but that didn't happen. During this chat session, it was announced that a third prize would be awarded that night. Over the last few days, America has been voting for their favorite juror. That person will be awarded $25,000 at the end of the night. The Vote is Finally AnnouncedOne by one, Chen removed each key, revealing the player that juror chose. Libra - Dan
Since the winner only needed four votes to win, the remaining votes did not need to be announced, but in case you are wondering, Dan did receive the final three votes, sweeping Memphis. Dan and Memphis then finally came out of the house and on to the live stage, $550,000 richer between the two of them. Dan's family was there to greet and congratulate him. America's Favorite Juror was also announced. The vote was close, but Keesha took home the money and the title. Final ThoughtsIt was kind of weird that Memphis made it to the end. It was even weirder how much the other houseguests really disliked Memphis. Memphis never really caused any trouble, he was never involved in the fights and he never manipulated anyone in to anything. But at the same time, he was never HOH and won very few challenges. Yet, there he was sitting next to Dan in the final two. Why? Because Dan carried him there! Memphis didn't deserve to win because Memphis hadn't done anything. He did not earn that $500,000, and he was carried to the $50,000 second place prize. The houseguests knew that, thank God, and made the right decision, crowning Dan the "Big Brother 10" winner and awarding him the money he rightfully deserved. Earlier I said I was worried about Memphis winning because I felt he was liked more and had caused less trouble. I've never been so happy to be wrong! Congrats Dan!
