CL, usually you're good at picking out the endgamers, but I think you got it all wrong this season.

We'll see. Crystal, Ken, Matty, Sugar all have been given great care that I think has been layered -even in Crystal's ineptness. The half time post Ace TC is pretty strong, and Probst's attempt at misdirection and surprise, "Fang needs a miracle.."

Crystal and Susie have the edit of death - the former be because of constant negativity and disrespect from the editors (beginning with climbing the hill), and the latter due to UTR neglect. Crystal may be getting some redemption before her boot (like Judd). Ken's story has peaked, he has made enough big moves to justify his big story, and may be gone soon.

I think Susie has received the edit of death, not Crystal. Crystal's negativity has been a reality that has come into play - Marcus even tells her, and she responds, "I am batting zero." The TCs have shown the reality of how combative she is -no real way around it. And Randy's taunt to her was handled with great care as a plot point not to resurface later -one of them most likely facing the other on the jury.


Matty sides with Randy and Corinne and they become the endgame power. R and C are negative like Hatch or Brian or Todd, not like losers that Probst hates. Corinne was shown to be right about Susie where Marcus was wrong. She will get revenge and send her home before 6th place.

Matty was shown burying the hatchet, "clean slate," -"don't let anyone get in your head." It was, in my opinion, the crucial scene of the season, where this foursome "digs deep" and overcome the others. Corrine, you might think was shown to be right, however I feel her sound bytes were sellected to show her to be mean and vindictive -"She's forty-seven years old, what could she possible have over me?!" That's a little cruel for an editing team to do to a middle aged woman who's watching it at home with her family -unless Susie ironically has the last laugh over Corrine. I still think Corrine is going to be used for more sound bytes and the intent is to cheer when she leaves. The revenge on Susie would seem icky if it went through.

Randy is the best crafted edit and the star who has much story to go. Would have been more shocked by him leaving last week than marcus, because that would leave his build-up unexplained. I'm afraid you've allowed Sugar and Fang fandom to get in the way of seeing Randy's edit fairly.

Rewatching last night many of the episodes, it seems Randy is a good guy, but is being used as a story tool as the mean, nasty opposition to the underdogs. They've gone out of their way to show him as being more vindictive (again, the Crystal heckling after the reward leading to the "troll"; and the "king of Gabon" statement.) I think he goes late in the game and provides the question about camp life to Fang. But yes, he certainly could be one of the finalist. But also haven't you been on the Randy bandwagon since the first episode? So, are you unwilling to bend when new info comes down the road and trying to fit a square peg into a round hole? Just asking, not rudeness or anything. I mean, after Marcus left, I was excited and went back and reviewed everything with new eyes and this is what I was coming up with.


PS: I don't get why you love Sugar but disliked Parvati.
Over-emotional dyed blonde pin-up model who got tricked into booting her best friend. What so sweet about her? Yeah I liked her in the episode she found the idol, but since then she's been meh.

Who knows. I didn't even care about the season until her Exhile moment and then a lot of the characters started to pop for me. I know I think the strategy game isn't overly interesting to me, and in like a good movie, I want the person who randomly seemed to be thrown in there figure it all out and beat the strategists at their own game, so that's exciting to me. And I like her self deprecating humor and can laugh at herself. Coupled with the father dying and feeling she's in over her head, I get invested, and the fact that she has essentially walked through a mine field without blowing up. To me, that's good story -and if I were scripting an ideal story, I probably couldn't top hers. Throw in the "they think I'm dumb. I have no idea how to play this game, but I'm learning." well, it's all gold to me. But Ken and Crystal are also working for me as great characters too that I can get behind in their personal story. However, my like of these characters, I hope does not influence my figuring out the mystery. I was smiling so much at the post TC half time scene, not only because I like this motley crew, but because I could pick out editing tricks and thought, "holy moly, this is going to work!"

Parvati is fine -and even in Cook Islands, I kept saying she is a good player, and I still think she is. Just in my stories, I'm not overly interested in good, smooth players to win. I like the walking disasters that figure it out.

I like Sugar also probably because she has a throw back to 1950's style, she probably took her name from Marilyn Monroe in Some Like it Hot (one of the top ten best constructed films of all time); she's not a model, but a "pin-up" model (?!!!) Does that even exist anymore? Like she stepped out of a time warp. She lives in Brooklyn, I live in Brooklyn -I just think she's fun. And the walking through a mine field is pretty darn good -quite possibly the luckiest player to ever play the game.

but yeah, Matty wins, Sugar, Kenny, Crystal combo in final three.
