If Ace were booted, I'd say it was a great episode for Corinne. However, with Paloma out, it seems that Corinne's big CP episode was only an editing trick to try and hide the obvious boot. That's a great point actually. Survivor has to show some doubt, and if Paloma only approached Corinne, then Corinne has to have a huge episode. |

Crystal went all Frankie Valli on Paloma and gets the P that Candice deserved in CI. Amen to that Candice remark. That was all she had was that P moment, she had no sentences, confessionals or TCQ's. How is Candice not P in that episode? |

I completely agree that Corinne's fighting for Ace to stay was very bad for her chances. I'm still putting her as number 2, but Marcus is way way
ahead. He was definitely UTR2 this week. Ignored but he said stuff. UTR3 I would accept as well, but with 0 confessionals we really didn't learn squat
about him. Great cool off for a regularly 3-visibility person (in comparison to the early 4s Todd, Earl and Yul raked in).
Charlie's "You're smart at this game!" to Corinne definitely shows that she's going to be a huge power player this season (aka very CPN) but will not be likeable enough on the jury. I expect high visiblity from her overall this season. |

Episode 3 Rankings:
Ace - OTTN4 - He was very much portrayed as the one note villain. He was shown as cocky, arrogant, and everything that most audience members will hate. Bob - UTR2 - Corinne approached him about having the majority and he doesnt want Ace to carry Sugar. Charlie - MOR2 - He was there in the strategy scenes but he was never a focus. You could hear more from him strategy wise than most people and he could either be UTR or MOR here and I wouldnt complain. Corinne - CPN5 - Granted the N is weak but I think she earned it here, the CP is pretty self explanitory. You could tell where her head was at the whole time she was talking. I gave her a slight N only because she seemed not to care about many members on the tribe, especially with her final bitchy statement right before TC. Crystal - MORP2 - Not enough visibility for OTTP but you could see thats where this was headed. She was crying after winning the RC, got called out by Jeff for a great performance, and got a confessional explaining how happy she was. Dan - UTR1 - Not much GC - UTRN2 - Fighting with Randy over wanting to eat more rice after the whole tribe agreed that they had to control their portions and calling him out again for no reason is definitely N. Jacquie - INV - Nothing Kelly - UTRN1 - Asset she is not Ken - UTR1 - He won the challenge for his tribe, which saves him from INV. Marcus - UTR3 - He may have been heard a lot but nothing will be memorable after the show is over when the casual viewer leaves. Matty - UTR1 - I dont even remember what his confessional was on and Ive seen the episode twice. Paloma - OTTN4 - Despite her strategy talk, her edit this episode just came back to her hating Ace and wanting him gone. Her comments were very N and even though she was less N than Ace, she was still N. Randy - MORN3 - Best shot of anyone of Fang. He was right in his quarrels with GC but as Dan pointed out, the tribe needed to be unified which supported the N for Randy. Sugar - OTTPP5 - Actually it should be OTTPP7 but edgic doesnt go that high. This was Sugar's episode and I was ecstatic that she found the idol even after hating her and thinking she was a useless ditz in the first episode. That definitely proves to me that she is PP. I think the audience will come out rooting for her even though she is tied to Ace. Susie - INV - Nada. Winners Chances: 1. Marcus - I wont write him off after one episode but, he didnt do enough here to say winner. 2. Corinne - Definitely emerging more and more each episode. Best first three episodes for a female for a while. I definitely think she has a huge chance. 3. Randy - The only Fang with a real chance of winning, Randy is showing the most insight into himself and the tribe as a whole. I see what people are saying about him being the narrator but still hes strong so far. Possible: Charlie - Needs to do something on his own Crystal - I see they avoided OTTP with her this episode which helps her chance here IMO. Doubtful: Dan, Ken, Matty - None of these guys needed the cooldown they got this episode, but I'm not crossing their name off yet. Eliminated: Ace, Bob, GC, Jacquie, Kelly, Sugar, Susie |

I never like to say that any ratings are wrong because obviously everyone has their own valid opinions, but the UTRs for Charlie and Marcus are really
concerning to me. I have a strong point of view that both should be MOR - yes, I've considered why people are giving them UTR and I hope those people will
consider why they should (perhaps) be MOR instead.
Charlie: MOR3 Charlie gets a MOR3 for his two confessionals, both of which were strategic in nature: one explaining his alliance and the tribe dynamics pretty in-depth (he named the Ace/Sugar and Kelly/Paloma bonds with Bob as the swing), and the other one talking about the benefits of getting rid of the weakest link (Paloma) but also why it might be good to get rid of Ace because he's playing Sugar like a pawn and keeping her around. He definitely had awareness of what was going on with all the different groups and alliances, and we got strategic insight from him. Plus his second confessional was the swing vote type of confessional from someone who is considering their options before the vote. This is DEFINITELY more significant than the UTR edits. Look at people like Dan and Matty who got one simple confessional that added no new development to anything; Charlie's confessionals DID add development in terms of his awareness, tribe dynamics, etc.
Marcus: MOR2 Marcus had a confessional right before the Immunity Challenge talking about this being the most important challenge yet so Kota can regain their winning streak after Fang gained so hope and reduce Fang back to despair again. He also got two short Tribal Council questions, one about the way the hidden Immunity Idol should be used and one about "a lot of people on the tribe standing out" (a diplomatic answer), before he pointed out Ace and also said that he works well with Ace. After watching the episode again, I definitely think it's enough to warrant a MOR2 - plus, he was involved in more conversation at camp than I recalled too. He talked about Paloma being in the Reward Challenge and said that Kelly should have been in there instead. He said they were "stuck with Paloma." Going back to Dan and Matty, that should be a good point of comparison in this episode of why Marcus is MOR (more significant) over them. |

Ace - OTTN4. Ace created all of the drama, and I feel he is turning into a really good villain. He's manipulating the situation with Paloma to protect Sugar, and he's seen as condescending. A great character, but definitely OTT and N. Bob - MOR2. I debated a UTR on this one, but I feel that MOR is better. He talks to Ace about the boot early in the episode, he makes his allience with Corinne, and he gets to do the puzzle at the immunity challenge. I think he does just enough to avoid a UTR. Charlie - MOR2. I think he is hidden, but his two confessionals are very good. Corinne - CP4. I thought about MOR for Corinne, but she's very complex in this episode. She gets Bob into the allience, she talks to Paloma about Ace, and talks to Charlie about it afterwards. You get to see her insight, and she gets the final confessional right before the tribal council. I really hope she wins instead of Marcus... Jacque - INV1. Who is she? Such a shame... One of my pre-season favs... 
Kelly - UTR1. She...said...something! I'm in shock! Other than bashing Ace and standing up for Paloma, she didn't do a thing. I don't think that one TCQ warranted a tone, though. Marcus - MOR3. Can anyone say winner? He's a narrator this episode, and a great winners pick... a little too great... Paloma - OTTN4. This rating really confused me. I could see a neutral or even mixed tone, as well as a MOR. She had a lot of drama around her and I felt as though the Kota story was pretty much Paloma vs. Ace... thus why I gave her OTT. I decided on negative because of her attitude throughout the episode. Sugar - CPP5. Sugar got really developed into a great character this episode. The viewer had to root for Sugar to find the idol, especially with her story about her father. She's starting to learn the game, and is sucessfully lying to her tribe about having the immunity idol. With all of this development, definitely a CP. FANG Crystal - MOR2. I can see a UTR for her, but I think her comments during the challenge promotes her to a MOR. Obviously not too visible though in this episode. Dan - UTR1. One confession about unity. Other than that nothing, which equals... UTR. GC - UTRN2. I really dislike him after this episode. Not a lot of screen time, but all that he did get was negative. Let's waste rice? Let's give up at challenges? I don't think so... Ken - UTR1. He won the challenge for Fang, and I think that lets him escape an INV1. Matty - UTR1. Had a confessional, I think about winning the reward. Again, just escapes a INV1. Randy - MOR3. He talks about saving rice and not accepting a leadership role. I think he doesn't have a tone this episode because he was just narrating. Susie - INV1. She didn't say or do anything... Winner Choices: 1) Marcus. Clearly the best, and I hope he doesn't win. 2) Corinne. Is one of the few that can rival Marcus. She got quality editing and I hope she wins! 3) Crystal. I really don't think we should count her out. She's one of the few people from the Fang tribe that has a possibility of winning, and I think she can. 4) Matty. I think he has a shot, but he really needs to pick up facetime during the next episode. |

just finished watching for the first time...
some random thoughts... YAY SUGAR!!!!! xoxoxo you rock! She made me laugh and cry all within 5 minues! Officially my all time favorite, Yau-man has moved to the #2 spot... YAY - PALOMA's GONE... KOTA, you rock! (boy she sure was a negative nellie, that one, yikes!... although i LOVED her closing remarks... if Ace wins she'll stop watching. LOL!) I think Kelly is just kinda dumb.... i'm not 100% sure she "mis-heard" the question... and even if she did... Jeff gave her an opportunity to correct herself, and she still didn't get it... hence the crap edit. I'm sure the editors sift through scads of vacant and inane comments... by everyone no doubt... but some are just truly abismal, and these are the people who get the bad edits. Personally, i don't blame the editors... you can only work with what ya got... what up with GC??? man, you need to grow up. wow.... liking Corinne alot. She's probably a control freak in real life... she is just so ON! damn! Didn't find Marcus to be as "MIA" as everyone's comments made it out to be. I thought this confessional on the upcoming IC was well thought out and for this point in the game spot on. Kota did need to win to keep Fang's momentum down. It really foreshadowed some of the TC stuff about team strength... and i thought is showed that Marcus was aware of the importance of team vs individual (Corinne also talked about this debating Ace vs Paloma). I thought the "fake-tear" thing was funny - and was meant that way, it was a "bonding" gesture to Ace... I mean really... was anyone truly sad that Paloma was gone. I didn't think so.. oh maybe the invisible girl... but whatever. Other than that... the only people i remember were Crystal - what an excellent set of challenge performances, and damn her... she made me cry after winning reward! And Randy... curmugoney old bastard... definite negative tone, and please don't give me that crap about ---oooo he's just a negative individual--- he's definitely being shown negative, everything he says... while supported by the editing, is still negative. I'm sorry, but you can't keep calling your team a bunch of dumb idiots and have it be neutral..... i gotta crash... rating tomorrow hopefully. Oh, and OTH... i totally think that Matty looks a lot like his grandfather, same eyes and mouth:

They showed him saying they had to crush Fang, and then, after his confessional, Kota went on to lose. It set him up as being wrong, almost like hubris. I'm not sure if the winner would have had that confessional, I can't remember if any of them did in previous seasons. |

There is hardly a difference between MOR and UTR sometimes, but it seems that his strong opening episode may be influencing people to give him MOR as soon as he shows his face (which I had for him until I went back and rewatched...his presence was comparable to Dan, and only Jacquie INV and Kelly UTR1 has less Kota screentime than him). |
