So she wasn't being shrewd, just talkative. Sure, Jacquie was a bit screwed by the twist, but she wasn't the first or the last Survivor to have that occur. I thought one of the funniest things this episode was when she tried to buddy up with Kelly saying, "I thought we all got along pretty well," only to have Kelly reply, "Well, actually ..." Doh! That suggests she may have gotten just a little too comfortable in her safe position over in Kota. Alienating anyone can come back to bite you in this game.

Heck, I agree with you that he was mainly a beneficiary of being in the right place, but the reality doesn't matter as much as the editing. Regarding inclusion of Jacquie in the cuddle buddy talk, if Kelly did include her, I missed it.

In fact, she mentioned her before she mentioned Sugar. That was the point of the inclusion of that scene - to create the justification for the keeping of Kelly over Jacquie. Without that scene the subsequent actions of GC, Crystal, and Ken would have made much less sense. They thought she was buds with Ace.

Editing can't make me like you. You are an empty hollow boring as fuck character. Also, I hate the editors. I know they're just doing their job, but still... No confessionals from Corinne makes me sad. She still got a couple of sentences that were strategic during the pickem, as well as the shots of her celebrating the challenge win, which saves her from the dreaded INV. No one can argue against that. I would say Ace was more negative than mixed. he might have worked hard at the challenge but he had it out for Kelly and made "bwa ha ha ha" type of evil villain comments, a clear continuation from last week. Shocking how Kelly, Jacque and Susie all got confessionals this episode. I was wondering if thery were ever going to show Jacque talking this episode until after the lost the challenge. She was totally screwed and editing showed it. I'm a huge proponent of not throwing challenges unless you're absolutely certain you know people are going to stick with you. I can imagine exactly how Jacque felt. I guess this explains her mysteriously invisible edit despite being in the main alliance on her tribe. Thanks for telegraphing story arcs so far in advance, editors. I think at this point we're supposed to be rooting against Fang for being completely inept. It's being shown as the weak simply willing to go with the flow. Matty's in an interesting position because he's basically being used as a vote and has been shown to have no ties to GC, Crystal and Ken. Is this a setup for later? With the idol coming to their tribe, it's a definite possibility. He was already willing to stick his neck out to get Jacque to talk to the others into keeping her, basically the only positively edited one of the ones who stayed with Fang. Randy got an interesting edit. He was shown successfully getting Susie on his tribe and not GC. But then he gets a confessional saying he's willing to vote anyone off, basically the people he made an alliance with on Fang before coming over. Sugar gets yet another extended positive stay in exile. She'll last a while, that's for sure. Unlike CL, I absolutely refuse to declare that... person... the winner.

Otherwise, no one would get INV ever, since no one was actually invisible in any episode of Survivor from day one, season one. The "only girl" comment was just to explain her "bad" choice of Susie over GC. But I agree that Ace was negative and arrogant. Calling Kelly a "whiny cow" was clearly negative for Ace.

Static neutral. Ken: CPM3 - Just shot up in winner's chances right here. He needed this. G.C.: MOR3 - Once a cancer, always a cancer. Maybe skewed N since the Dan/Susie/Matty/Randy coalition still talked shit about him before the switch. Matty: MOR3 - Boring. Jacque: MORP3 - Sorry, I did not see OTT here. She was not shoved down our throats until the final 10 minutes. Shame she had to go though. Kelly: OTTN4 - This was obvious. The constant negative SPV brought her visibility # up. Ace: MORN3 - Surprisingly subdued in this episode, but this is bad for his winner's chances. His story has yet to explode though, and I can't wait to see how he's gonna function once Sugar is back with the idol. The excessive visibility of this tribe (though no 5's), even though it was their boot episode, seems to indicate that the dynamics here either play a major role in the next few episodes (i.e. Nu-Fang loses a lot), or is setting us up for an endgame. If it's the latter, best chances for a win go to Ken, followed by Crystal. Ace is now a no. SOON-TO-BE-NU-FANG: Sugar: UTRP2 - Keeps it light and fun. A nice diversion from the N episode for Fang, and the voice of reason. "They are idiots if they don't vote Kelly off." They vote Kelly off. Either: 1) They (as a whole) are being played into the wrong direction by a puppeteer (i.e. Ken), or 2) They are indeed idiots. NU-KOTA So boring that I have few comments. Just ratings. NuFang is a very N tribe as a whole (their only P member was voted out), NuKota is a positive, if boring, tribe. Randy is the only great character right now (Ace is a good villain, though - I can say I honestly hate him regardless of the editing), and Marcus is pretty much the only eligible winner contender. This is gonna be like Fiji all over again... NuKota: Bob UTR1 Charlie UTR1 (The Charlie/Marcus plotline is disturbing, to say the very least...) Corinne INV (Disappointing!!!) When we did see them, they were doing something stupid (Sally losing the fishing spear, the group eating the rice and beans in the wrong way while Terry was gone and Nick and Austin becoming very sick as a result). Casaya was edited as a trainwreck, but also as funny and memorable. I think Kota is supposed to be good, and not stupid, it's just that the show doesn't give a crap about editing for them. The edits for Charlie and Corinne so far have been shameful. The edit for Marcus is so one-dimensional I almost wonder if he was ripped from a bad comic book. Fang is supposed to be more unlikeable (Susie and Dan were barely there during their time on Fang, and when we do see Ken, Crystal, or GC, they often look petty, delusional, or just pathetic) but the whole season has such a "who cares" vibe that it's hard for viewers to see the sides as being all that different. The most interesting part for me is that none of the hyped characterizations have happened so far. Randy is nowhere near as offensive as the show claimed he would be. Neither is Corinne. Matty is just the generic male extra we are supposed to like because he's not as obnoxious as most of his team. Marcus isn't that interesting either. So either their stories will start to change later on, or the show just hyped them up as much as they could even though they knew they may not ever become that bad, because they were just desperate to get people to tune into the season.
