You say that as if it is substantially different from what I said, but it isn't. Jacquie was trying to cover herself, but it was too late. It was like
closing the gate after the cows are out.

I thought you were saying that Jacquie had naively assumed everything was fine with relations at Kota because she was in a safe position. I was saying I think
she knew there were fissures, she just didn't want Fang to know about them.
Another thing I wonder about with Fang is who they would rather viewers root for in Ace/Sugar against OldFang + Kelly. So far, aside from Sugar and Matty, most of them have had negative or not great edits, so viewers may have a difficult time caring. Of course I don't think Ace's edit has ever been THAT negative, more insufferable and stuffy than overly mean-spirited. |

You actually have to burn down the camp to get an N.Didn't work for Butch!
Yes, good pick-up. Also interesting was her apparent certainty that Fang would lose the IC. No faith that Ace would ace it? |

I've never posted at Edgic before, only read along the past couple seasons or so. It's always an interesting read, but I would never have the time to
do this. However, I'm posting because I cannot understand the UTRs for Corrine or calling this a "great cool down episode" at all. Not trying to
single anyone out, this is just an example argument:
She still got a couple of sentences that were strategic during the pickem, as well as the shots of her celebrating the challenge win, which saves her from the dreaded INV. No one can argue against that.I can't see how saying she doesn't want to be the only girl after the focus was on Randy telling everyone to NOT pick GC is somehow "a couple of sentences that were strategic" and how shots of a tribe celebrating somehow makes her not INV. She wasn't featured at all in the challenge either, and it would be any tribe that wins is automatically not INV. A ranking of your position in the game along with a tribal swap meaning new dynamics seems like the worst pre-merge time for a cooldown and it's not like her edit has been distracting thus far. People seem to desire another possible contender so much that they are unwilling to eliminate someone. |

Anyone else find it funny that some people were clamoring to give Todd N's the times he uttered the word "bitch", even when it was clearly in a
joking tone, but (I think) only one person has even mentioned Ace's "whiny cow" comment?
This episode presents a great case of where the editing clearly intends for us to feel disagreement about a vote when a level-headed analysis would suggest it was clearly the correct move. Jacquie got positive editing, and Kelly got negative editing, and we even got Sugar's comment that Fang would be stupid not to vote off Kelly, but clearly it makes better sense to eliminate the vulnerable Onion Alliance member (or at least the Kota insider, which they did know about) to save a player who is going to vote along with you in the future. I 100% agree with this. I don't get why so many people think it was so stupid to keep Kelly. I know, she wasn't helpful in the challenge, but neither was anyone else. It's always better to keep someone that will work with you over someone who probably won't, and definitely won't long-term. |

The most interesting part for me is that none of the hyped characterizations have happened so far. Randy is nowhere near as offensive as the show claimed he would be. Neither is Corinne. Matty is just the generic male extra we are supposed to like because he's not as obnoxious as most of his team. Marcus isn't that interesting either. So either their stories will start to change later on, or the show just hyped them up as much as they could even though they knew they may not ever become that bad, because they were just desperate to get people to tune into the season.Cirie and Ozzy seemed way overhyped too unmtil WAY into their original seasons. For a season dominated by alpha males and older people, this is looking pretty good. The Onion had little story because they remained a safe majority, 4/5 together, and away from TC. I'm feeling increasingly bored by tone debates. Should Randy be N for a certain cynical quip? We know they cast players who could play a villian role for the Last Eden theme, we know these players self-present that way in confessionals (not a matter of N editing spin like is done to GC or Kelly). And we know they are near the top of the winner's list. Susie's strategy is to stay by working hard. It's a logical stategy for her, what's so P about it? She was voted least useful on her tribe. |

Do people think it was stupid? The show is over simplified, and it's all about going all out and winning challenges. Strategy for a general audience is
usually simplified, and it's easier to tell the story of people who don't perform well in challenges or excuse me, not putting their whole heart into
it, as a baddie. Even if it's in their best interest to not win the challenge.
Cassidy, I hear ya. This is shaping up to be a great season -great casting, and so many dynamics. The only problem is knowing that Marcus is winning, or more importantly to me, knowing WHO wins. Randy is possibly the only upset in my mind. The fan in me is rooting for Sugar all the way. |

Just to get this out there, I strongly believe ALL 3 of GC, Crystal, and Ken were N this episode. They were shown as idiots the entire time. Stupid slackers
that cannot reason on old Fang, indecisive and presumptive on new Fang, and even though all 3 of Crystal, Ken, and GC has a confessional about Kelly going,
they ALL voted her off in the end. Crystal wants someone on her team that will fight; yet she votes Kelly. Ken says his mind isn't made up, and it makes
sense to keep Jacque, yet he votes her. GC says in his vote that it may be a mistake but that's just how it is. Good reason? No. They all were shown as
hypocrites. In the challenge and at TC they got tons of airtime showing that they were just plain stupid. No M, no Neutral...
CRYSTAL KEN GC All 3 were N. |

Crystal: When does Dan go to get fruit? Mmhhhhmm *sits on her ass*
Group of 4 Fang: Crystal is impossible to talk to Crystal: I should be number 4 what the heck *blah blah* I'm so strong *Crystal bombs IC* Crystal: I'm usually strong just not now, I'm stronger than [Kelly], it just wasn't my game Crystal: Jacque wants to fight, and I want someone like that on my team *Crystal votes off Jacque* There was nothing redeeming, constantly shown as a hypocrite. Ken never had any P moments that in a single episode would qualify as P. He picked Kelly which Jeff said was a suprising choice, he said Kelly's hot and he's using her as a vote (like she's some whore) and consistently shown as weak... and even the rice segment at the start he was completely dumb; Randy called it- this is SURVIVOR. The only redeeming thing to his edit was hearing out Jacque, BUT HE VOTED HER OFF ANYWAY. Thus, it wasn't P. Screen shots galore of both Crystal and Ken looking smug when Jacque left, like "eh too bad". It made no sense at all. They were idiots, just as Sugar claimed. Ace may be a jerk, but he's completely right; Kelly sucks. Ken and Crystal- CPN4 GC- MORN4 |

yeah but we got some back up from Marcus(And the previsously on segment) saying even he was surprised Crystal wasn't in the top 3. Then we got a
confessional of her saying Jacque was pulling at her heart strings.

Jacque was pulling on her heart strings, and keeping Jacque was visibly smarter. Ken even said "It's not my decision, talk to CRYSTAL" so clearly
she decided who went. In GCs vote he didn't seem to be the spearhead in her going. It was Crystal. Crystal made the decision and was the biggest hypocrite
and lived up to nothing. They've consistently beat us over the head in the recaps that she's an Olympic athlete, and her performance in the first
episode and this episode have been less than stellar. They're showing that being an athlete does not coincide with SURVIVOR.
Crystal is N and remains completely eliminated. She has no long-term arc. She's d-o-n-e! |

But the EDITING (which is what Edgic is about) suggested over and over that Jacque was strong and that she wasn't with Ace and Sugar (therefore the idol didn't involve her) and that Kelly was weak. The edit enforce that it was an idiot decision (although it may have been smart, how their decision played out will come back to haunt them based on the editing). |
