I saw the door/key trick but how did pulling the key back through straight get the door locked again? If mom locked it from the outside then put the key back in on the inside, would the key fit back in? |

I just want to pop in and say that this show is so GOOD. I've only seen a handful of eppys, but it's really good. I'll have to watch it every
week
after NCIS (awesome show). so... who is this Red John that they mentioned in last night's eppy? I get that he killed Jane's family... but how and when did this happen? |

It happened before the show started, i don't think they've said exactly when. Jane used to be a fake psychic and said some shit about Red John, so he
killed his family.

Back on topic. That key thing was totally lame. Yes you could lock it from the outside and MAYBE (if you had a few hours to kill) use that fishing line trick to try to get the key back in the slot. Those old time locks were simple. But even if you did and burned the line off with a lighter there would still be that little "noose" of fishing line around the key. This is not CSI. I like the Mentalist so I let little things like this slide. And tigeranne (WAIT! "anne". Are you guys trying to mess with me?) Red John was an already established serial killer that Patrick Jane (during his "psychic" years) was messing with to further his career. Red John killed PJ's family as something personal. Its what made PJ stop being a psychic. The earliest episodes of this show showed all of that. |

The last scene (the call from Red John) was very creepy and the smiley face in blood. I just started watching this show, my third episode, and I really like
it. Simon Baker is great in the lead role.
