I don't mind him being added to the cast - he seems to be in the background right now and at least it seems like they'll actually catch RJ this season - probably in the finale, but whatever...... shit - I just googled him - I didn't know he was married to Kathryn Erbe.

The creator of the show said that the "Who is RJ" would run in the background for the life of the show. So unless it ends this season... we won't know. Kinda sucks if you ask me. I dont like storylines to go on forever...

Of course this was before the series premiere, so it's quite possible he's changed his mind since then. Personally, my expectations for this show are very simple - I just want to stare at Simon Baker for an hour each week. If they happen to catch Red John at some point or solve a crime or two along the way, that's just a nice bonus.

For the first episode of season 2 they should have done something big with the Red John storyline and really hyped it up. They didn't really do anything special to launch the new season. Also, this works much better as a 9 PM show than a 10 PM show.

Not that they have to highlight it every episode, but if they did it like Life (at the end of every episode Crews would be at his wall and you always knew he was working on finding out why he was framed, etc....even though the show didn't necessarily address it) it would be more realistic to Jane. Last thing he did was plant the bug and you'd think we'd get a scene of him listening in. Something to keep the thread going. I wont give up on it yet, since I get it at 8 and the only other option (for me) is Judge Judy.

So does that mean we have a season with no Red John??

Kinda like how the show LIFE was. There was always a few details on who framed Charlie for killing his best friend (and wife/kid). RIP Life... I miss thee.

The show is getting higher ratings than Eleventh Hour did in the same timeslot last year, but it hasn't been the ratings juggernaut that CBS was probably hoping for.
