What a coincidence - I just got another cockatiel to go with the one I've had for 4 years. I love em. <3

What's better--cockatiel or parakeets?

I prefer cockatiels because they're less skittish from my experiences. Size seems to be inversely proportional to nervousness with birds.
But I'd rather have a cockatiel than one of those big-ass birds because they can't really hurt you when they bite. |

I've got an umbrella cockatoo. He's very entertaining, but loud as hell when he's bored. The shreaks will kill your ears. Yes, he can bite hard
too. My favorite bird was a quaker. Not too noisy, good talker.

Yup and updates on any new tricks!! He's Happy cause he has kids to play with. It was voluntary. I wanted him to have fun cause he is only 11 and has a
life span of 70 or 80 years. I had him for the first 10 years. Now one of my best friends have him and his kids are having a blast and so is Max.

birds shit and make noise. What are the positive aspects of them? (unless you think those are the positive aspects.)

Next time Ohio loses power you don't have to worry about not having eggs?
Otherwise, I got nothing. |

Birds are the worst. They make so much noise. Their only redeeming quality is watching them count their mirror beads.

To each their own. Some people keep spiders as pets *shudder*
I know with mine, she is really funny at times. You know the theme song for Weeds? The "Little Boxes" song - you play that for her and she'll stop whatever she's doing and dance like a mofo to it. They are smart little characters who are cuddly and affectionate. They have mechanical minds and are good little problem solvers - so you have to always be one step ahead of them. They ain't for everybody, and I will usually try to talk someone out of buying a big bird - because they usually have no idea what they are getting into. But for the few people that can handle having a large parrot, life with them can be pretty frigging cool. |

The only time Mr. Neutron squawks is when he wants another mullet spray or when my dog barks too much, he is very sweet, loves music, he dances when I have it
on, he also likes to sing along with it. He is very good company.
Zippy that is so cool you get to see him and get updates. |

I just bought a third baby parakeet and got its wings clipped--it's perching on my finger now! :-) I should've done this with my other two keets when
they were still young.
