No way - Elia stuck up for him through most of the season, but towards the end, even she couldn't take his asshole-ishness any more

The only laughable part is "a couple of times" - the rest of it....yep, you did, dude!
As for his talent....

The ideal F3 for that season would've been Sam, Cliff and Elia
Ilan and Marcel as the winner and runner-up was a total joke and mockery of the whole show!
