I've been waiting for this "I hate Jeff because he's a good-looking guy" stuff to begin.
No one is calling him gay, too? C'mon you pathetic Suckster assholes, let's get on it! I'm beginning to think Jeff wins it. He's hard-working, accepts responsibility, and has been just a deuce away from winning three or four challenges. I agree that Colichio doesn't like him, and that's Jeff's biggest strike. But it's obvious Padma can barely contain her love-juices, and Jeff is at least a lock on F3. |

I adored James Spader in the 80s. Thank you, SI, for helping me get to the root of my inexplicable Jeff liking. I started looking at other 80s teen flicks to
find their Top Chef equivalents, then quit when I remembered there are no people of color in any of them, anywhere. No Carla, no fun.
Yes, Colicchio really seems to not care for him. This is from his blog, and he seems to be going out of his way to poke at him, when everybody loved the dish in question. "I will make one more point that did not come across in the episode, about Jeff's choice to make fried green tomatoes. I appreciate when a chef uses something that would otherwise go to waste and manages to create a fine dish. But this episode was shot at the height of tomato season. There is a narrow window of time in which to get a remarkable tomato. This was that time, and the vine-ripened tomatoes at Jeff's fingertips were among the finest to be found anywhere. Dishes with green tomatoes are usually made at the very start of tomato season before they've ripened or at the tail of the season with those that never did. So while I commend the impulse to create with ingredients that might otherwise be overlooked, I question the judgment of doing so under these circumstances." |

I wish I could love Stefan like you guys do, but I don't know...he just makes my skin crawl. He reminds me of the ever-present Sleazy Dude At the Bar who just can't take no for an answer when all you want to do is just knock a couple back with your friends in peace. Ew, I can just imagine him walking up all, "COCK!!! HAHAHA, I LOVE IT!".

Cousin Oliver, always a fun read. I chuckled out loud to " ..Also bad? Ariane has to jump around to avoid all of the Hosea/Leah dry-humping." The
visuals were disturbing on that one.
I realized though after awhile, like on the show, Fabiospeak is cute and funny for about 2 minutes then, for me, it gets tiresome. And I could not figure out what he said about killing life for a 'porpoise'. I swear he said PORPOISE. I am hoping that Carla wins the $10000 favorite chef, but I am resigned to the fact that all the lonely and sexless housewives will probably vote for Fahbeeoh. And since Fabio directed slurs to my beloved Jamie about her scallops, I say this as a retort: "this isn't Top Ravioli Fabio, this is Top Chef!" Do you have to make some 1000yr old Italian pasta recipe every episode? And the top 3 this episode of Carla, Stefan and Jamie would be my pick for the final top 3. But I highly doubt it will happen, the only one I think that will be there for sure is Stefan. Very disappointed to see Ariane go home, but I think she got a lot out of being on the show. Her confidence seemed to be bolstered by her wins after a shaky start. And really not liking Leah and Hosea too much anymore. One of them is in a relationship outside the show? yuck.. low class if that is true. This isn't Big Brother here. Carla love in extremus. And Jamie love, cuz she doesn't get any here. ;)

He sure was bragging up a storm in that blog - he claims he was in the forefront of the "farm to table movement" - haven't people been eating that way for thousands of years? Ugh. (Yes, I get that he was talking about the trend of using locally produced ingredients, but it's not like it's a new concept.) Anyway, James Spader is still cool. He was great in the 80's, but even better in Sex Lies and Videotape and Secretary. Spader <3 ETA: The photo is of the "Roasted Bluefoot Chicken," served at Craft. (In case anybody is wondering.)
