What I like about this show is that the mysteries are very well designed, like novels, not like TV shows. My problem with shows like CSI is that the
resolutions are often incredibly far-fetched. The Castle mysteries seem to be especially thought out, and the way the two lead characters unravel them seems
logical. It helps that I will always give Nathan Fillian projects a few amount of time to catch on.

Well put. I agree that the mysteries are a very different breed from most procedurals where a very unique type of fibre or car paint colour are essential to
solving it. Here his novel writing background needed toflush out motives but it doesn't invalidate her police background. He's often just as wrong and
right as she is.

Okay, I frakkin love this show and Nathan! (disclaimer--I've actually loved Nathan since he played "little" Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live.
That was when I knew he was a SupahStah! since he was always a better actor and hotter than the guy who played his older brother Kevin--when Kevin was supposed
to be the teen studmuffin. bwah.)
Anyhoo- Nathan is awesome, the writing is better than decent for a comic procedural (Nathan's quips are the lulz), and there's a lot of subtle stuff going on to boot. I had to crack up when you saw him with the three redheads in his life. And a hyooge THANK YOU! to the writer/director for the hot sweaty sex scene to open the show. More please! And at the end, when he's telling Beckett that now that he saved her life she owes him whatever he wants....."And you know what I want, don't you?" um. yes. please. (Mabel, wring out the knickers!) Okay I'll stop fangirling now, but this show really is pretty good for what would have been throw-away fluff in someone else's hands. |

I love this show. I love it that Nathan is back! I liked him as the badass in Buffy, but Firefly sealed the fandeal. Castle would have had a whole
'nuther atmosphere and tone to it with another actor in the lead. Are those one liners his or the writers? He's a likeable, comfortable presence as
an actor who can pull off what could have been an annoying prick character and turn it into something much more charming. The character is loveable because of
the way he plays it. Very watchable and entertaining.
The overall casting has been very good. I have loved watching Susan Sullivan in so many things going back decades. It's great to see her having fun with her role. I usually hate child actors as the parts are usually cloyingly precocious. I don't mind the daughter character although her know-it-all-ness has the Wesley (ST-TNG) HATE potential if they put her on too much. The female cop is not a bland, just pick a Hollywood blonde, any blonde they all look alike so that helps. Her acting? I can't say much for it now but she seems a good foil for the loveable guy. I love the mystery part of it. I couldn't articulate exactly why but I think y'all have said it: it explains the logic of how it gets from point A to point B. It lets us figure it out with the characters. Sadly, knowing my history with shows I love look for it to be a quickly ending series. I hope not but that seems to be my track record. That or the show's writing turns to shit. I hope not. This is the only ABC show I watch. |

Another great ep that's very different from the others. I LOVE his 1st wife. I hope we see her again. I love that she helped with the @!%+%#* connection.

this show is definitely different than the rest - and in a good way. I hope it sticks around.

I find it hard to believe a random yoga instructor would believe a random big black guy with a strong accent is a cop, but whatever. Or that he would be smart
enough to find both wimmens.
Good episode, though. |

I would love to have more of first wife except not her and mother too..but, seeing how he gets with wifey just shows she would be too much of a
distraction..after all he and detective will get together eventually...no?

I think it gets better with each episode. Really, really like this show. Loved Castle following them in on the raid. He's great in this role.

was I the only one watching last night? Cute show! This show has a great cast and they work exceptionally well together. Each show is fun!
PS - who one the auction date with Castle? |

I like last night's episode too. Having Castle humming the action music right before the bad guy showed up was great.

I watched it and liked it, but its so disposable. Nathan is of course, crazy charming. And what was his nickname with the society women - white horse, white
elephant?

The writing was great. Even the other detectives get good lines and the Perp antonyms speech was classic.
And damn, she was hot in that dress and 'do! |
