Downloadable content

In addition to custom songs, players of the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii versions will be able to download new licensed songs for the game. This is the first game in the Guitar Hero series to support download functionality on the Wii.^[4] Wii users will be able to store downloaded songs on either the Wii's internal memory or on an SD Card in a "Rock Archive," and then will be able to add songs to playlists from this.^[5] When playing tracks stored on an SD Card, each song is automatically copied to a "content cache" on the Wii's flash memory for play and then deleted after the song is finished. This will require about 200 free memory blocks on the Wii.^[6]

Rock Band is still better, but with instruments working with both you only need to buy one set and then buy just the software for the other, and there'll be room in our hearts (and living rooms) for both games.

I'm just looking forward to playing Eddie Van Halen's guitar licks and solo in Beat It and Hot for Teacher.

If the GH equipment works with RB, I'll buy all the RB games too. But I'll wait to make sure. I bought GH I, II, and 80s thinking it would work with the PS3 guitar... it didn't. So I had to buy a used guitar and haul out the old PS2.

Systems are never gonna be compatible...PS3 guitars won't work on PS2 games, and of course there's just no place to plug in PS2 guitars on a PS3.

However, RB2 stuff will work with GH4 and vice versa on PS3 now. (and 360, but this was true in the previous installments for that system) I'm not sure if the compatibility is retroactive (i.e. GH4 stuff working with RB1), I think they said they're working on it, but they'll at least be backward-compatible with their own games (RB2<>RB1 and GH4<>GH3&Aero).

I would have preferred Anthrax's cover of "Antisocial" to Trust's original, although Motorhead's "Overkill" and Jane's Addiction's "Mountain Song" are boner-inducing.

I've just recently gotten guitar hero... and I think I have a problem.

I've decided to set my alarm 15 minutes early each morning, and play a couple of songs....
That's all fine and dandy, except I can't get "black magic woman" out of my head today...

PLUS, almost every song I hear now, I'm picturing it in guitar hero notes.... (including songs in church! eek!)
it's bad.

is there a 12 step for this??
