You may or may not recognize me (and I'm leaning to the latter), but I have been frequenting this forum for quite some time now as a lurker mode. I'm not exactly sure when I first set foot here, but I think it was around the time of Africa/Marquesas. I started really keeping up with it around the time of Pearl Islands and All stars. I was around when edgic picked up enough steam to dominate the speculation forum, when the Mole forum converted to the Lost forum, and I got to witness sucks proper as it went down the shitter from its glory days. I've got to see the boardicides of god knows how many people, laugh at the antics put on by tons of pathetic trolls, and got to read thousands of posts displaying the dysfunctional yet charming and addicting community guys have going here. Point is, my post count may not prove much, but I've been around for a while. Although I may be new to you guys, you guys most certainly are not new to me.
So who exactly am I, you might ask? I am . . . the casual viewer. I've watched a fair amount of TV, but I also read books, go to school, party, have sex, play video games, run a radio show, eat food, get high and then eat more food, and (believe it or not) sometimes miss an ENTIRE EPISODE of a show I'm currently watching. I've never been to a post-show wrap up party, never met a contestant of a reality TV show, and never applied to be on one (not that I could anyways, I'm a Canookian). Now, some of you may question the authenticity of this account. For all you know, I could be a ghostie for Artiee Lang (or whoever that fucktard is that Dr. Will based his game off of). BUT, it doesn't really bother me if you think that, so maintain that opinion if you want to. You'll probably realize soon enough based on my vocab and writing style, .
So why am I here? Well, I think that its time you got the unheard perspective at sucks. I've learned a hell of a lot about TV from you guys, and its time you see what (quasi)-normal people thinnk about TV - Oh, and btw, I mean normal with regards to TV, I'm pretty abnormal otherwise. Starting tomorrow (or maybe tonight, or maybe the day after tomorrow, who the f.uck really cares?) I will be ranking the best 25 shows to appear on television from the casual viewer's perspective. I will also attach a writeup because that is what makes these lists worth reading.
If you don't like my opinions, that's cool. Express them to me, and I might change my mind. Otherwise, flame me all you want. You guys are funny, and I can never really expect what you'll come up with.
Anyways, a few quick notes before I get into this list.
- I am 21, so chances are if it ran before 1990 it will NOT be on this list.
- I'm male, so you will not be seeing shows such as 'Gossip Girl' or ' The Hills'. But I'm also gay, sand the flamer in me does come out in my tastes occasionally.
- Some good shows will not be on the list simply because I haven't seen them. But I will make reference to the ones that I feel would probably have made it if I had more time to devote to TV.
- This is a list from MY perspective. Overall, I think I have pretty good taste, but if you don't like it well then you're shit out of luck.
- Also, I can increase the number from the 25 best shows, but I don't really want to go above 40. What do you guys want?
