In fact, I never hardcore got into Brawl, due to not being in college anymore; I always had someone to play Melee with and all the time in the world too when I was an undergrad. So if I lose, those are my excuses.

It's PART of the game. That's like saying mega mushrooms takes away from the integrity of Super Mario or using Materia takes away from the integrity of FF7 or using grenades takes away from the integrity of [insert FPS here]. Yes, the option to turn some/all of them off/ lower or raise the number of them is a nice addition. But the fact is that they ARE part of the game and the fact that tournament rules says items must be off is the biggest bullshit ever. I know the pro gaming likes to take elements of randomness out of competition but if elements of randomness is part of the actual game itself then why? Stupid...
