If Starbucks is Seattle's best coffee |
Lead | |
|
then I never want to go to Seattle. I was in Borders Book store the other day and made the mistake of ordering a coffee. They serve "Seattle's
Best" which is owned by Starbucks. It was horrible. It tasted like they ran hot water through a used coffee filter. Why is Starbucks so popular? Do people
from Seattle like bitter tasting coffee? Dunkin Donuts puts it to shame.

Starbucks is only good for the 2000+ calories drinks. Those are the best. Regular coffee sucks

Any Seattle native will tell you that Starbucks is not even close to being the best coffee. SBC is much better, but still not as good as the smaller coffee
makers in the area. Try Cafe Umbria or Portland's Stumptown. I haven't had Torrefazione since Starbucks bought them up, but they were good before
then.

well yea, if you want the real coffee go to the several cafes here - Victorla, bauhaus, ladro etc.
starbucks is just convenient |

I've never understood the Starbucks love -- their coffee is just nasty. They seem to sell image (all the trendoids who dress alike can tell each other how
cool they are) and convenience (they're in frickin' Targets now!)
I only drink plain black coffee, and pretty much any place is better tasting than Starbucks. |

Starbucks is the Mickey D's of Coffee... I don't seek it out but if I am desperate I will drink it... but I do like the blended lemonade green tea
thing.. man with tequila it rocks.
That said they may be my future third job so I embrace their overroasted beans with the enthusiasm of a 2 dollar hooker performing a blow job |

Beefcake wrote: I think image is everything to the tards who pretend to like Starbucks. It's almost as if the cup gives them a feeling of superiority. If they were smart, they would buy empty Starbucks cups and fill them with Dunkin Donuts coffee. This way they can fit in with the other idiots and have a good cup of coffee. |

I don't find Starbucks brew to be nasty - just plain.

I bought some kopi luwak a few years ago, and at 300 dollars a pound, it was almost as much of a ripoff as one of those venti macchiati from Starbucks.

Well, part of the problem is that Starbucks only uses their crap beans to brew the coffee of the day - you can't get the good beans brewed in the
shops...and they use their oldest beans to get rid of what is going too stale to sell by the pound.
