Add the depressing and hard-to-watch "haves and have-nots" twist and the season was amost unwatchable for me. The latter half wasn't as bad, but didn't do shit to renew my lost interest. It didn't help that Earl was announced as the winner in episode one, either. No Thailand is horrible by any standards

I mean, Thailand is my second favorite season, but I can understand if people think that it's #7 or something behind the other pre ASS ones. No one should be ever allowed to call it worse than anything from Palau onwards (or at least worse than Fiji and CI). Palau was the beginning of shafting people in the editing room and where predictibility began. That is the season where character development started to die, and people were ignored for long periods of time to make Tom and Steph heros. Gabon is definitely bringing back the older season feel to me, but all the people who hate Thailand really need to go watch it again. I guarrentee that it's just because you havn't seen it in a while. I this a joke?! Predictability did not start in Palau. The most predictable of all the seasons was Thailand! You didn't really think anybody but Brian would win did you?

The only bad thing about the season was the predictability of the have and have-nots twist but most of the early seasons have been more boring than that anyways I thought you only communicated through emoticons...

It was a great cast, so a lack of emphasis on intrigue let us see the interesting personalities more, I think. I think people may not like Gabon as much as I do because the cast seems too normal to them. Editing focuses so much on OTT cartoon characters lately, that when you see a well adjusted group, they come as boring. I love Gabon, it is one of the best seasons in years and one of the only two post ASS seasons I genuinly love(the other being Panama).

No, I had no idea when it was airing until Helen left at the final 4. I mean final 9-6 episodes may have been boring stragically, but we got to know the castaways, and they were a hell of a lot more entertaining than anyone from CI/Fiji. Most of the reasoning I hear for why Thailand sucks is that the final 4 (or mostly Clay) is so unlikable. I'm one of the few Clay fans, so I guess that doesn't affect me, but you cannot tell me that you knew Brian was going to win from the first episode, nor the second. Nor the third. Not until the final 9 at the very earliest (which I have no idea how you could have unless you didn't watch it while it was airing) because every person in the game recieved a fair amount of screen time. I thought for sure Helen was going to win, but I guess that's just me.
